ORIGINAL: SoMnFan Eat me Michigan deserves some embarrassment Wear it for decades, like we have to, and see how that feels Exactly. I was irritated that the announcers kept making it sound like the poor, poor Michigan fans just can't fathom the bad play they are watching. BS. They've had years and years of satisfying football wins and much more than their share of celebrating. I don't feel sorry for them one bit. Maybe it's just their turn to have a bad season (or hopefully a string of them). I too was more than a bit tired of the woes for the poor Michigan team and the ever seemingly you have to feel sorry for the Michigan faithful sentiment that seemed to be way over blown. How many years have we had to listen to any coach (including a Michigan coach) at half time say "Well we're up 30-0, but we have not played well at all, I feel we should be up 60-0 against this team" I had some sympathy for the Michigan QB in that he probably should have been pulled much earlier. Otherwise no such sympathy at all. I could not help but smile every time they showed the crowd and they looked absolutely miserable. As for the game itself. Honestly it looked like we were watching a team coached by Tim "rah rah" Brewster. This Michigan team looked lost, confused, clueless... they appeared to have no confidence and no hope as if they almost expected to not only get beat but really no faith in their ability to make a game of it. I have thought at worse that Kill has put a good solid foundation back under the programs feet. Since he has been here rarely has the team look lost, clueless or completely out-coached/prepared. I do think there are times, especially on offence the play-calling has been a bit disappointing and like others I'd be ecstatic if we could really find solid QB/WR play from the offence to go with what has been in large a good running game. After the TCU game and with all the jokes about the offence(the passing game) I would think think that we were able to really control the game as much as we did was an unexpected pleasure that Michigan never really looked like a threat. In fact, it is probably testimony to the teams past and our expectations of "Oh no, not again" that when Michigan scored the late TD there may have been a little thought of "Could we really lose from here." Not to repeat the same thing over and over as done in the past, but now we must build on this win and carry on. We now have to defeat teams like Purdue, Illinois, Iowa. And to be honest, especially with Northwestern being at home this is a game that the Gophers need to win to not only further their confidence as a team but to further signal their turnaround from a comical joke of a program, a team that used to be a guaranteed victory for an opponent to a program that really is able to not only compete week-in and week-out but win week-in and week-out. Here's looking forward with a legitimate hope of good finish to the year rather than just blind "I hope we can compete and maybe pull out a lucky win"!! Hopefully not too a long ramble, perhaps still a bit sleep deprived.
