Brewster's boys look a bit flat.

Our offense is not real fun to watch.  Michigan in a terrible year is still superior to the Gophers in a good year.  Welcome back to reality.

Sadly, you are correct, sir.
This team was that beautiful little butterfly ...
Brewster held it gently in his hands, released it into the wild, and it is now being torn apart, wing by wing, by the wind/nature/vicious animals.
We are the not-ready-for-prime-time team at this point.

If we don't get points before half, we are toast.

One 1st down in first half??????? Absolutely terrible. The team has a lot of recruits on campus this week, not a good time for them to choke

Yds in the first half
Mich 246 MN 47
11 first downs to 1
EMBARASSING
We are Tailback U no more and it's killing us.
I wish Mason would have left us his running game when he left.
Of course, when you see Maroney and Barber in the NFL, you wonder how the hell we never won.

That embarassing, sinking feeling of "I fell for it again" is setting in.
God, I hate that feeling.
It's called being a Minnesota sports fan.

Nope, not the run-and-shoot, Matt.
It's the stumble-and-fall.
So what, Deckers laid up.
If one guy is supposed to carry your college football team, you're screwed.
What we are seeing is coaching staffs getting tape and making adjustments to stop what worked for us earlier.
And we are not adjusting to their adjustments.
We are trying to force what worked earlier on people. Doesn't work in any sport.
Coaches get paid to analyze opponents and figure them out. We done been figured out.

Is this offense supposed to be the run & shoot?  I don't see a lot of running.  And the only shooting I see is shooting ourselves in the foot.

Yeah, I missed that thread by a mile.  That's what I get for trying to follow a senate recount and Gopher football game at the same time.

Weber looks like a deer in the headlights out there.  He clearly hasn't been able to move on from his INT last week to end the game.

This is where MN teams need to catch a clue ....
Did Michigan come out and say "lets be careful, lets protect our lead"?
We would have.

The reason I bring up the run & shoot is it feels like I'm stuck in a Tecmo Bowl game trying to win with the Houston Oilers.  16 plays to choose from, wideouts all over the place, 2 of the plays are running plays - a draw to Highsmith or a rollout/bootleg with Moon.  It can work in Tecmo Bowl, and the Oilers made it work pretty well.  But watching the Gophers try to do it, I can only describe it as the Rus & Shoot on Crack.

If we had gotten the ball on the 8 there, we'd have seized up our scrotums, ran 3 times for 1/2 a yard, and punted.
Gophers and Vikings.

And then, when you show you may still pass in that situation it DOES open up the run.

At first I thought it might be the play-calling but as the game progresses it's clear that Weber is totally indecisive and absolutely terrified to throw it downfield.

If we get it to less than 2 TDs with a whole quarter left, we can do this.

Onside kick?  Maybe line up like you're gonna kick off, and do the onside?  I don't know if that would create an element of surprise or not.  Michigan's gotta be looking for it.  Tough call.
