Initial shock. I'm in the middle of a lot of research.I heard someone compare him with Kill. I take that as a huge compliment.

AP Poll is a joke. Nebraska ranked #25. Gophers are just receiving votes; would be #27.

Bucky being destroyed by the Buckeyes. I wonder how we would've done. We only lost by 7 at home.

That's the kind of demoralizing loss I don't want to see our program endure by getting into a big game before we are ready to compete at that level. Whether its the conference championship or a big time bowl game like the Rose Bowl. That kind of loss can damage the psyche of a team for a while. Not sure how you recover from it. We need some improved recruiting classes to compete, especially need a QB and some WR's, otherwise I don't think we're that bad.

I don't get dropping TCU from 3 to 6, but I think it's good for the Big 10 to have a team in the Playoffs. It may benefit the Gophers into a little better bowl game.

Good question Jim. I'll definitely root for the Gophers because it's our turn by gum. My kids are not only Mizzou fans, but they're also St. Louis Cardinal fans - so they've enjoyed a couple of World Series wins in recent years - - - plenty of satisfying championships already for two very young people.

Go Gophers!

What a great break for us!!! Everything fell about right for us to get in the Citrus Bowl, and I believe we are playing about as beatable of an opponent as we could given the prestige of the bowl game. I've never watched the Gophers in a New Year's Bowl game, so I am really excited!

Ohio State cracking that top 4 raises the profile of the Big Ten to be sure, but in no way did they deserve it. TCU got screwed.

Yessir Jesser. This is the year the Gophers crush in their bowl game and keep building their program to bigger and better things.

Shocked times two.
Not a big-enough name or a shiny-enough resume' imo, for those expectations.

The Kill comparisons seem off from what I have read. Kill is an intense in your face coach. He runs a battering ram offense. Riley is supposed to be more laid back and runs a pass oriented offense.

Not sure what to think yet of our draw.
Geeked that we are in the big-boys section this year.
STILL not so sure we can step it up enough, to avoid embarrassment.
This team has proved me wrong many times this year, here's hoping they give me one final big ol' "F-U, SMF" on Jan 1.

We should be able to beat Missouri. We have already played better teams than them this year and been competitive. Missouri got crushed by Georgia and lost to Indiana at home. This is the first year they have any sense that they can compete on this level. They are confident and they fight tooth and nail. I'll be disappointed if they don't win.

According to my son the Mizzou fan, the sure-fire way to stop the Tigers is to run the triple option. They can't seem to adjust to that.

So someone get Jerry Kill on the phone to make sure he knows that.

You think it's a set-up huh? I guess I'll leave it to Kill's staff to do their own scouting.
