ORIGINAL: TJSweens It sounds like Tyler Johnson from Minneapolis North has made a huge impression and is climbing the WR depth chart as a true freshman. He was signed as a QB/DB. They moved him to WR in June and he just took off. I remember watching the kid in the prep bowl last year. GREAT athlete, with an extremely high football IQ. They were talking about him on the KFAN morning show today. He has a 45" vertical. If so, he should be playing for Pitino. That's up in Jordan territory. Yep, he was also the PG for the basketball team. Like I said, I just saw him the one time in the prep bowl, but he impressed the hell out of me. I thought there was an outside chance they might see what he could do at QB. He looked like he was tailor made for the Gophers offense. Then I saw the way he jumped a passing lane to pick off a pass and could see why they recruited him as a DB. Now it sounds like he is even more impressive at WR. Sounds like Claeys and Johnson almost immediately ruled out a red shirt season.
