The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers could trade OLB Aaron Kampman before the Oct. 20 trade deadline. Kampman is in the final year of his contract. Even if there is no new collective bargaining agreement in place before the 2010 season, Kampman will be an unrestricted free agent in a market without a salary cap. For a player of Kampman's reputation, that would certainly be an enticing proposition. If Kampman is not signed to a contract extension before the end of the season, he could walk away and the Packers would get only a compensatory pick no higher than in the third round in return.

Too Bad they've put themselves between a rock and a hard place.  Teams will know they need to trade him because they wont get hardly shit in return...plus they probably realize now that he's not a good fit for the 3-4.  Other teams wont offer them much.  They might be better off with the compensatory pick.

AP reports the heated match-off between the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night was apparently too much to handle for one Packers fan, who allegedly stabbed a man outside a Minneapolis restaurant after his team lost. Ryan Andrew Hinderaker, 30, of Minneapolis, has been charged with second-degree assault in connection with the incident. Hinderaker allegedly stabbed 41-year-old Leif Heide outside the Leaning Tower of Pizza on South Lyndale Avenue, after trying to engage in an argument about the game. Minneapolis Police spokesperson Sgt. William Palmer said the incident has left some officers puzzled, as Heide was a Seattle Seahawks fan. "The victim didn't care one way or another who won," Palmer said. "I'm not quite sure what motivated this guy to pick on a Seahawks fan, but he stabbed him." Hinderaker allegedly followed Heide outside, pulled a knife out of his right pants pocket, and stabbed the man in the stomach. Palmer said that Hinderaker had left the scene by the time officers arrived, but he later called 911 and turned himself in. Police searched Hinderaker and found the knife in his pocket, according to the criminal complaint. Heide was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

Again, both years Fisher was the only guy in the league who wanted him. The Titans need to go with Young, whose next failure to win with an NFL team will be his first.

Yep. Unless he either makes an amazing breakthrough at OLB or they go back to a 4 man front, he isn't going to want to resign with GB.

I was on Cheesehead Craig about this in the offseason. I said it would not work. They should trade him. I offered a 5th rounder, representing the Vikings and Cheesehead Craig representing the Packers turned me down.

All tongue and cheek aside, I along with others felt like the 3-4 was a horrible thing to do to your best defender. They have taken a superstar and made him average.

He would be a nice FA pick up next year.
