Status: offline 		It was 28 years ago today that Chiefs running back Joe Delaney died while trying to save three drowning children. In Delaney and Pope, the Chiefs have had a couple of real heroes.

Early this month Pope saved a boy from drowning, and that experience has inspired him to make water safety an emphasis of his charitable foundation.

Pope hasn’t sought attention for his heroic action and wasn’t quoted in the first round of stories about the boy he saved, but he is now using his platform to talk about the importance of learning to swim.

IDK, maybe I've become too cynical but one, the Delaney story is a story of a hero who sacrificed his life in a heroic act. Jumping into a deep pit, not knowing how to swim to try and save 3 children.

Pope, who knows how to swim jumped into a pool at a pool party and got a kid out.

Give the guy a cookie for doing a good job but he isn't a "hero".

Crazy. And they can afford to redo Vick and Jackson's deal without hurting themselves this year. And they appear in good shape for the future.

Moss
Swann

To me any receiver can be "great" if they get to play with a HOF QB. Marvin Harrison probably makes my top 10 list, but he played with Peyton Manning his whole career. Owens played with Young, Moss played with Brady, Carter played with nobodies.

Bradshaw is a HOF QB only because he was on the Steelers. Swann was simply amazing for his era.

Status: offline 		It did look familiar. As it turned out I only watched the one series so I don't know how it went after that, but he looked pretty much the way we experienced him. He ran for one short first down, and he ran around in the backfield on a couple of other snaps looking for an open receiver, and he got sacked. I totally get that it's preseason and it's a new team, but he does have the same OC, so theoretically he shouldn't have much to learn.

Of the other preseason games I didn't watch any of them.

I don't agree completely

Sterling Sharpe was on his way to the HOF even with Don Majikowski as QB

Tons of WRs were mediocre even with Brady except Moss and Welker

Status: offline 		ST. LOUIS: No quarterback threw deep less than Sam Bradford last season -- 6.8 percent of his 590 throws went longer than 20 yards. I knew Bradford was, relatively, a dink-and-dunker last year with no wideout he trusted downfield, but that number is a stark one.

Josh Freeman put together a fantastic sophomore year in the NFL with 3,451 passing yards and 25 touchdowns, along with a 95.9 quarterback rating.
On top of the numbers, he also made a trip to his first Pro Bowl.
However, he was able to show something much more valuable in 2010.
He is one of only three quarterbacks in NFL history to have seven fourth-quarter comebacks in his first two seasons.
Being a clutch player capable of leading a team to victory from behind is not something that can be taught, so the Buccaneers have a quarterback who possesses a very rare talent.
