I never want to hear a word from a Packer fan about reffing ever again.  I mean it.  NEVER again.  No matter what happens this game in the end.  The Packers were given EVERY opportunity to win this one.

The Packers had a helluva run. That OL is great. Grant was a no show and Brett stopped playing at halftime. Still very nice run.

It was a good season. Surprised the hell out of me.

But the Lambeau mystique is gone. 2-4 in their last 6 home playoff games.

yes, yes
There is nothing like watching Brett throw a pick in overtime that directly leads to a humilliating loss at Lambs bow toilet.

Perfect end to a Puker season....

Well, the 2nd half was dominated by the Giants.  Dear heavens did Plaxico just own Al Harris.  Al picked a hell of a bad time to have his worst game of the year.  Eli made some great throws and the Giants WRs had some great catches as well.

MM put together a poor gameplan, IMO.  He did not use Grant nearly enough and it was kinda like the beginning of the Dallas game where he believed that the secondary was weak and so he overattacked it and did not adjust accordingly when that was not working.  The 2nd half adjustments were terrible.

MM tried to get too cute with the gameplan and didn't stick to what worked all season and Brett was awful in the 2nd half.

Hats off to the Giants, they beat us.

We had a great season.  14-4 isn't anything to be ashamed of.  Very bright future for this team.

Congrats Craig for a good season.  I don't think Favre has enough gas left in the tank to get you over the hump.  However, AR looks pretty good so you guys might not miss a beat.

As long as that OL plays like it did this year almost any QB should play well.

Harris had a "bad" game, but our defense should have adjusted. Double-cover him or something for crying out loud. By the time the Packers decided to change their plan, it was too late. And yes, the Giants did everything in their power to hand victory to the Packers, but we wouldn't take it. The miraculous missed FG with four seconds left...I was thinking, "OK, that's great, but we're 1/10 on 3rd down efficiency." We won the toss and I said to my wife, "This just prolongs the loss."

However, I don't think NY is that much better a team. I think they're worse fundamentally. Eli Manning isn't great under pressure, but we barely pursued him. He throws a lot of bad passes, but we were unable to get an INT.

Brett Favre was surely a stinker tonight. He was not emotionally involved for much of the game. He provided very little leadership, preferring instead to huddle under his parka. There were a couple exciting passes, but they were big plays and we scored too soon to really gain any momentum. And for god's sake, why the conservative play calling on 3rd &15?? How many times have we watched this team go for short yardage on a long yardage situation? That was so damn frustrating. Other than that, I thought a lot of the game was actually rather boring.

Then there were the penalties. The questionable roughing-the-passer flag and then a couple offsides were particularly damaging, as they gave the Giants the entire drive. Packers would have won by default had it not been for that disastrous defensive stand.

Just an all-around bad game, though the Giants weren't that effective either. I think they sort of won by default, as the Packers would have. But NY did play a better game, and I respect them as a team. I will root for them in Super Bowl (which I probably won't watch).

So do you think Favre should hang it up and hand over the reigns to Rodgers, David M?  It seems to me like you have to do something w/ that investment of Rodgers because as of right now, there is no return.  He can walk in FA after next season, right?

No, Favre should come back. He had a lousy night, but overall I think he was fantastic this season.

If anything, I think the Packers should consider drafting help at the CB position or going after one in FA.  That shotgun approach at CB has kind of fizzled now.  Woodson seems long in the tooth (and the turf toe hurt his cause).  He should probably drop back to S and make way for a youngster.  Al Harris is just too physical.  It really hurts the team.  He constantly had his hands all over the opposing WR's.  The refs actually seemed to be going easy on him by pocketing flags that should have been on the ground.  Ahmed Carroll and Joey Thomas were wasted potential at CB.  However, I must say that Bigby was not too bad at S.  And last, but certainly not least, what ever happened to the #1 draft pick, Justin Harrell?  I haven't even heard him mentioned this season.  Was he injured or something?  The Packers seem to have a lot of wasted #1 draft picks recently.

Agreed. I may be the only one who thought Al Harris was actually somewhat overrated this season. He made some plays, but did he really perform that much better than other CBs? Bigby definitely improved as the season progressed. He was very shaky towards the beginning and got flagged frequently.

God, even when it was 20-20, it felt like we were losing. You've gotta wonder if we really were better off hosting NY. It'd be very interesting to see what would happen if we could've played at Dallas against those clowns. Couldn't possibly have been any worse than this affair.

One would have thought after the first quarter, they would have given Harris more help.  That's the one thing MM has to learn is to not be so damn stubborn that if something is not working to change it.

I have to agree with Dave M., the Giants are not that much better if they are at all than the Pack.  Eli and his WR's simply had an incredible game.  Just like in hockey if you run into a hot goalie you have issues.  Eli and his WR's are hot right now and have a ton of confidence.

The way the Packers played, they deserved to lose.  The end result was the correct one.

True but they never really got into any running game. I thought Brett had all day in pass protection but he simply played bad.

Harris simply mugs receivers and Plaxico was too big for him to be effective. Not sure how he gets away with it all the time.

Harris plays so closely that a lot of the time he's up against the WR, so it helps hide his clutching and grabbing. Either that or his hair is too distracting.

Even though he got smoked I repected Woodson for taking on Jacobs straight on w/o resorting to a dirty Harris knee dive.

Jacobs is bigger than AD yes?

Woodson is older than Harris yes?

Only thing better would have been for Webster to take that pick to the house.

Here is a nice video for everyone to enjoy.
