I know it's kind of hokey, there's not too many places where 15,000  people will come sit outside for 3 hours in a cold stadium - but we're Packer fans.  Gotta wonder if they'll do it again this week when its below zero...

I think the Giant's D line is that good as well. (Certainly when taking the sacks stat into account.  Much like the Packer O line with regard to sacks.) They will be a large point of emphasis I'm sure.

That's great Ray.  Thanks.  Yes, I'm sure I know them now.  I knew Ryan a little bit.  If I remember correctly, he's my little brother's age (2 years younger).  Daryn was in between us but was more friends with my little brother.  I was a baseball/basketball guy and my brother was a football guy. 

Don't know if you've seen me mention it before, but Daryn is really an amazing story to me.  He was never that big of a kid and I didn't ever think he'd be anything.  We had much better athletes than him in the area.  But he REALLY bulked up at Boise State with hard work.  He gained something like 80 lbs of muscle in a year or 2 span.  Amazing. 

And his recruiting story is pretty cool too.  If I recall correctly, Buck Nystrom, who is an Alaskan legend as the best/winningest state football coach ever and was a GREAT guy (went to my church, knew him very well, died young of heart complications) was sending in tape of the best athlete I ever saw in my lifetime, Doug Lamb, who I played baseball/basketball with and against and was all-state in all 3 sports, plus track.  His life got sidetracked by drugs/grades, but apparently Colledge caught their eyes on tape and they signed him.  The rest is history.  I'm pretty sure that's the full story; I can ask my brother to remind me.

Definitely root for the guy.  He's kind of Mark Schlereth II to me.

Father arrested for forcing son to wear Green Bay Packers jersey

PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) -- Upset that his 7-year-old son wouldn't wear a Green Bay Packers jersey during the team's playoff victory Saturday, a man restrained the boy for an hour with tape and taped the jersey onto him.
Mathew Kowald was cited for disorderly conduct in connection with the incident with his son at their home in Pardeeville, Lt. Wayne Smith of the Columbia County Sheriff's Department said. Pardeeville is about 30 miles north of Madison.

The 36-year-old Kowald was arrested Monday after his wife told authorities about the incident. Kowald was taken to the county jail and held until Wednesday, when he pleaded no contest, paid a fine of $186 and was released.
Kowald's wife filed a restraining order Wednesday, so Kowald will not be able to have contact with his family, Smith said. Smith said other domestic issues have surfaced, though he wouldn't elaborate.
The boy refused to wear the jersey Saturday, when the Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks in a playoff game, Smith said. Smith said the incident sounded strange when reported at first, but the mother took pictures with her cell phone and that type of evidence is difficult to dispute.
Kowald, contacted later Wednesday by the Portage Daily Register, said the incident started as a joke. His son challenged him by saying he wouldn't root for the Packers. When he tied the boy up, the youngster was laughing while his wife took pictures, he said.
"Then he couldn't get out and he got upset and that's it. It lasted a minute," he said. "I didn't mean no harm, and he knows that, but I haven't been able to tell him that."
District Attorney Jane Kohlwey said there wasn't enough evidence to support felony charges.
"I wouldn't agree with what he did, but legally a parent can restrain a child," she said. "I have no proof of emotional damage. ... I have to follow the law.

The key to the story is the reference to other domestic issues and the fact that this was bad enough that the wife got a restraining order.

One of the things I learned when I used to participate on the Packer board is that domestic abuse goes up exponentially after a Packer loss.  This was from a PACKER fan admitting it - so not something just made up by a rival or anything.  He said that emergency rooms go on a kind of alert status after the Packers lose games because they expect to see an increase in battered women coming in.

Another Packer fan admitted that it's been shown that absenteeism from work goes way up on Mondays after a Packer loss too.  I imagine the whole thing would make an interesting sociological study - across the NFL fan base.  The question would be - "How does your team affect your day to day life and relationships."
