I felt the officiating was a bit biased against the Pak in the last game, and I didn't like it.  I wanted the Pak to go down with nothing like that lingering.  I think whining about officials should be a right reserved just for Vikings' fans .

The Cards had little chance of slowing the Pak down, and it seemed like the only way to do it might be by blitzing.  The Pak did a low percentage deep throw on 1st down, which set up 10 yards for a 1st down, which led to a deep drop and the subsequent ball getting ripped about by a blitzing CB.

IF Rodgers can stay healthy in the next year or two, and plays like he did in the last game, he looks like he might break Brady's record for TDs in a season.

Rodgers made some remarkable throws, there were some outstanding catches by Jennings, and Finley is a beast.  Finley made a nice catch on the play where he first gave the defender a nice bear hug, the defender got unfairly flagged for PI on the release.  They should have flagged BOTH of them on that one, or neither of them.

I agree with Aikman on the lack of a flag on Fitz running into Woodson in the endzone, but I'm surprised Aikma didn't agree that the defender should have been flagged for the hit to the face on the QB, on the same play.  If that is the case, then Aikman must not have minded the no-call on the defender's hand in Rodger's face on the final play of the game.  The picture of that made the front of the local sports section.

Way too late for that. Packer fans have been complaining about the refs for too many years to put that cork back in the bottle.

Well, it was a fantastic comeback but my boys just fell short.

Packers lack of quality secondary depth got exposed on defense. The loss of Harris loomed very large on this game.

Capers was dead set on a gameplan and didn't seem to make any adjustments when it went bad. Very disappointed in his preparation and lack of adjustments.

Rodgers had a very poor start and played a fantastic 3 quarters, but unfortunately the game had 4 quarters and an OT.

Nice blitz on the last play by AZ, Rodgers never saw the CB coming and you saw the rest. Crappy way to end the game, but he should have hit Jennings on that deep throw on first down. Damn Jennings was open. That was the 2nd time they ran that play and both times he just overthrew him.

The media may make a big deal out of missed calls, but you guys know me in that I don't blame officiating for losses. The Packers D couldn't stop Warner. THAT'S what lost this game.

But it was a great turnaround from last year's 6-10 team to go 11-5 this year. Defense has noticeably improved, offense is elite and the team is still overall very young. The future looks very bright.

Offseason moves needed (in no particular order of importance):
OT - Clifton may be done
CB - Pretty obvious need here, and Harris and Woodson aren't getting any younger
SS - Zero depth here, plus Bigby really can't cover anything
Pass rushers, either DL or LB - Lack of a rush other than Matthews is glaringly needed

Congrats on a food season. You have to be happy about Rodgers progression in just his 2nd year starting. Unlike McNabb, he never quit.

I disagree to some extent about Capers. I am not impressed with him at all. Putting in a system that neutralized your best pass rusher wasnt brilliant.

Overall, it really looks like there is a lack of great safeties in the NFL. Remember when Sharper and Dawkins were young?

Hey, if your offense can't score 50 points, you DESERVE to lose.

IF they had called a facemask penalty on the last play, would it STILL have been a fumble, since the ball was knocked loose BEFORE the facemask occurred ?  IF so, WHERE would the Cards have gotten the ball ?

No, it wouldn't have been a fumble, the play is considered a dead play.  Packers would have retained possesion and the ball would be spotted 15 yards downfield.

Woodson DPOY!!!

Very well deserved. His HOF credentials just got more solid. In fact, I believe he would make it at this point.

I think we all know if it was the Vikes playing the Packers the kicked ball by Erin Rodgers would have careened to a Packer RB who would have ran it for 30-40 yards.

Isn't it a penalty to kick the ball anyway?  There seemed to be so many infractions during one play that it's hard to even dissect.  Facemask, tuck rule, kicking the ball; I'd hate to be the ref during that aftermath.

No, I don't think there is a rule against kicking the ball.  A QB can kick the ball, it's considered a punt and the other team gets possesion etc just like a punt.  I remember John Elway pooch punting a ball once or twice to catch the other team off guard and NOT return a punt.

Rodgers looks like a REALLY good QB of the future.

Maybe when he turns 40 he'll play for the Vikings ?

Could happen...

Maybe Arizona should have been credited with a punt return for a touchdown.

It doesn't matter how they credit the guy for it...

It was a TD.

But did the Cards allow the punter (Rodgers) a chance to get his kicking leg down ?

Shouldn't there have been a penalty for contact with the punter, or hand to the helmet of the punter ?

I'm sure the refs thought he was kicking the ball intentionally after all.

Green Bay Packers: Is the Green Bay pass defense good enough to get to the Super Bowl?

Under first-year coordinator Dom Capers, the Packers' defense spent most of the season as one of the surprise units in the league. A solid pass rush and great play from Charles Woodson helped turn the Green Bay defense into a real strength. In the playoffs, however, Green Bay got shredded by the Cardinals. Was that a one-game aberration, or did the Cardinals expose holes that can be exploited by opponents in 2010?

For the season, the Packers ranked second in our DVOA rankings, so they certainly appear to be in good shape for next season. However, a closer look at how the high ranking was built up leads to possible concerns. The Packers feasted on a plethora of poor pass offenses. They played only six games against offenses in the top half of the DVOA rankings (not counting the meaningless Week 17 contest against Arizona). In four of those games -- both losses against Minnesota, the Pittsburgh loss and the Arizona playoff loss -- the Packers' defense got blasted by their opposition. Our DVOA ratings adjust for opponent, but maybe not enough in Green Bay's case. The Packers were particularly good against their worst opponents and particularly bad against very good quarterbacks.

The Packers are understandably a chic pick to win the NFC next season, and the offense should remain potent as Aaron Rodgers

The Packers have little internal hope for improvement. They lost cornerbacks Al Harris and Will Blackmon to injury, and both could return next season. Still, Harris is basically ancient at age 35, and his return to an elite level is highly doubtful. Even more troubling, it seems hard to imagine that Woodson, who turns 34 next season, will continue to maintain the same high level of performance. Safety Atari Bigby has improved in coverage but remains a liability. Good opponents were able to successfully attack down the middle of the field, and Bigby gets lost sometimes as he gets farther from the line of scrimmage. Absent of some major moves in the defensive secondary, it is hard to imagine the Packers will have solved these problems next year.
continues to develop. The defense, as constituted, will likely be good enough to return to the playoffs; it can continue to dominate the Bears and Lions of the world. If the Packers really want to compete for a Super Bowl, however, they will have to be able to slow down top opposing pass offenses.

I must have missed this...but do you really think Johnny Jolly would be getting the pounding?  Man that size would be doing the pounding.  People would be tossing HIS salad.

Doesn't change the fact that he'd still wind up in a federal, pound-me-in-the-ass prison if he got convicted.

(I thought the Office Space joke was the right way to go there.)

Well, the draft is over.

Happy to get Bulaga as our T's are pretty damn old and banged up.  Saw him play at the end of the season and in the bowl game and he was very good.

Rest of the picks I have no idea on.  Neal is reportedly super strong and will be a DE in the 3-4 and Burnett is a Sharper-esque S with ball hawking and no run support.  We'll see how they all turn out though.  Very surprised no OLB drafted but several signed as undrafted FA.  It will be some time until we know for sure how we did in the draft.

If ya see a painted sign at the side of the road, it says fifteen miles to the. . .

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!

Police are investigating a member of the Green Bay Packers in connection with an alleged sexual assault of two women Saturday morning at a condo in Lake Delton.

Three sources familiar with the case told the Journal Sentinel second-year cornerback Brandon Underwood is that player.

Police said seven Packers were at a condo where a party was taking place and where the two women said the assaults occurred.
Six Packers were interviewed and released, but police are focusing on the seventh player, who told investigators that the contact with the two women was consensual, said Sgt. Gerald Grimsled of the Lake Delton Police Department.

Grimsled said police don't believe the other six players were involved.

Lake Delton Police said the six cleared were quarterback Matt Flynn, safety Khalil Jones, guard Josh Sitton, fullback Korey Hall, and linebackers Brad Jones and Clay Matthews.
