To the surprise of absolutely no one, Chicago Cubs super-prospect Kris Bryant is off to a scorching start down in Triple-A. Through five games for the Iowa Cubs, Bryant is hitting .381 with a couple home runs, five RBIs, and a couple stolen bases. Compared to what he did in the Cactus League, where he hit .425 with nine homers in 40 at-bats, he's actually taking it easy on his minor league foes. Now it shouldn't be much longer before Bryant brings the show to the big leagues. The only reason he didn't crack Chicago's opening day roster is because by keeping him in the minors for the season's first 12 days, the Cubs would gain another season of club control over Bryant and delay his free agency until 2021.
