Interesting chatter from Colorado about Tulo probably on the verge of being moved.
Sure wish we would someday be players in stuff like this.
But for now, you hear it, and simply go ... won't involve us.
Sigh.

You hear this and wonder who the Yankees are willing to give up to get him

Trekkie, you have been really negative lately.

Sorry. didn't realize it.

There are some elements of my life that make me quite a bit more cranky over the past few years and I'm sorry if that is translating to my posting here.

Don't worry about it. I was just being annoying.

I think we've all become crankier as time has gone on. And the Twins probably have more to do with it than we care to admit.

Good thing I haven't put Coco Crisp into my fantasy starting lineup yet. I just noticed he's 0-25 so far this season.

Kluber and Salazar are formidable

Corey Kluber struck out 18 and allowed his only hit in the seventh inning, getting his first win this season in style and leading the Cleveland Indians to a 2-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night.

The reigning AL Cy Young winner, Kluber (1-5) didn't yield a hit until Jhonny Peralta grounded a clean single to center with two outs in the seventh. A small crowd of 12,313 on a crisp night at Progressive Field gave Kluber a warm ovation and he finished the inning by striking out Jason Heyward.

Did not walk a batter

Kluber's 18 strikeouts tied the club record for a nine-inning game held by Hall of Famer Bob Feller (1938.) It's also the most strikeouts by an AL pitcher since Roger Clemens in 1998.

I keep saying it, but it's a golden age of baseball right now IMO, guys. Crazy amount of young talent everywhere. I'm not sure the game has ever been stronger talent-wise.

I love ya Skilz, but Posts like this drive me nuts.

I'd say the 60's and 70's might disagree with you.
Maybe even the 80s.

There was a time in this country when many of the best athletes played baseball.

Now it's all LaCrosse.

I'm serious man. I appreciate the history of the game as much as anyone, but look around. Trout stacks up against anyone so far. Stanton's power. The stuff Miggy is doing year in year out. Every team has multiple pitchers throwing upper 90's, etc. Talent everywhere. Love it right now.

It appears it's not going to be embarassing (for anyone) to be beaten regularly by the Tigers.

Since Giancarlo Stanton debuted in June 2010, he has played for 6 managers with No. 7 on deck.

Yep. Probably the best all around hitter of this generation. An all-time great. Still wish we had ponied up for his initial bonus and he was ours. We'd have at least a couple rings with a Mauer/Miggy/Morneau 3/4/5.

Unreal. Wonder if Naked BP will find a role in our organization somewhere now or if he'll sit out while he gets paid for the next 2 years.

Shelby Miller 1 out away from a no-no today. I still think Heyward will work out well for the Cards, but the Braves sure made some great trades this offseason for the future. They're going to be really good when their new ballpark opens in 2017.

With Ronnie at the helm, Miggy would not have been in the bigs until 2010 or 2011

Bizarro org continues bizarro approach

Miami Marlins general manager Dan Jennings will move down to the dugout to become the team's next manager, he confirmed to ESPN MLB Insider Jim Bowden on Monday.

Jennings will replace Mike Redmond, who was fired Sunday by owner Jeffrey Loria after the Marlins fell to 16-22 and nearly were no-hit in a 6-0 loss to Atlanta that completed a three-game sweep.

Bench coach Rob Leary also was fired.

Jennings, who joined the Marlins in 2002 and ascended from vice president of player personnel to the general manager position after the 2013 season, will officially be named Redmond's replacement at a news conference later Monday morning.

Jennings played baseball at the University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey College before a brief stint as a pitcher with the New York Yankees organization in the mid-1980s. He coached baseball at Davidson High School in Mobile, Alabama, but has no coaching or managing experience at the professional level.
