You're giving MLB too much credit.  The Rays won it against MLB's wishes.  That "stolen base" by the Sox in the Top of the 8th (Quintin Berry?) was pathetic.  That blown call probably should have cost the Rays the game.  But they overcame it.


All those walks. Seems like, anything borderline for Boston is a ball.

Pitch to a breadbasket. Credit to the Rays to win.

LAD took the Braves out. Wonder if McCann blocked the entry way to the clubhouse because they celebrated.

Didn't Uribe watch that HR too long?

I could live with that.  but you can see what MLB wants. 
I actually don't have any problem really with the Dodgers, (except they have the feel of the 1996 Yankees, a team on the verge of going to the playoffs for the next two decades in a row etc) 

When the Twins aren't in it, I tend to root for the team that won a ws the longest time ago.  Right now, that appears to be the Rays, since they haven't won one.  That's not likely to happen...

So, next is the Pirates 1979
Then the Tigers 1984
Dodgers 1988
As 1989
Red Sox 2008
And Cardinals...

Except the only team I hate more than the Red Sox is the Yankees, so I want them eliminated more than anyone...

Ideally for me its Tigers/Pirates with Jim Leyland losing to the team that made him famous in the first place.

Status: offline 		AJ Burnett was the NL leader in K/9 this season.  But he was so brutal in Game 1, they are skipping him in favor of Gerrit Cole.  I can't blame them.  I haven't seen a meltdown like Burnett had in Game 1 since the Twins' final week of the regular season.

The Yankees did not disclose financial details of the contract, but a source told ESPNNewYork.com's Andrew Marchand that the deal is worth $16 million and includes postseason bonuses. Girardi made $3 million this season.

Status: offline 		The way Morneau's looking, he shouldn't get more than 2 years at about $3 mil per season. Of course this will not be enough for him, so he's gonna try to prove himself on a 1-year $2 million contract. Twins will sign him. Right in our wheelhouse.

Why would anyone pay more than that for him?

Right now he's more useless than Punto was when we signed him for $4 million per season....in a depressed market.
