Judd just read a baseball rule. Wieters was right. When the swing came around and hit Wieters in the helmet, it's a dead ball and the runners should not be allowed to advance. The runners advanced after Wieters was hit in the helmet and threw the ball into the outfield.

That 5th inning with Scherzer on the mound was as crazy as an inning can get. Wieters didn't help matters - at all. What a meltdown.

Complete shit show
With of course, the Cubs benefitting from every weird event.

Do people really not know that?
That was Weiters contention from the start.
Anytime you get contact from the batter, plays done.

The replay win by the Cubs in the bottom of the 8th was bullshit as well
No angle we saw made it clear the tag was held on when the foot came off
It's a Cubs world and we're all just sucking up their air
They have an arrogance about them that's incredible. Rizzo and Baez are as irritating as it gets in my world.
You can enjoy your teams success without splashing it in everyone's face.

You know the umps suck when the catcher knows the rules, tells the ump the rule, the ump doesn't know the rule exists and does not follow the rule.

The media in the northeast area of the country would eat Gardenhire alive. Not to mention the national scrutiny he would face because its "The RedSox".

Please let this happen.

Exactly.

That tomato would explode after Day Two

And that replay overturn...just ridiculous. Even IF they think it looks like his foot comes off by a centimeter, you can't tell for sure, and you also can't tell the tag is being applied at that exact moment. There sure as hell was not enough evidence to overturn the call made on the field.

This has not been a playoffs where veteran pitchers who are considered the top pitchers in their respective rotations, have shined. One pitcher has come to the forefront.......CC.

That's why I don't put 100% stock into the theory that you NEED an ace. You just don't. And Sabathia is no ace anymore. You just need your pitchers to pitch well in the playoffs, ace or not. Kluber, Scherzer, Kershaw, all playoff jokes. And there were others as well.

THIS
It's all about WHEN you pitch your best

I'm not a rules expert, but the batters bat hitting the catcher, stops the play.
Biggest game of the year and they don't get it right

Nats should protest the game just so MLB has to mumble its way thru an explanation better than the homeplate ump offered up.

I honestly thought he'd be 64 years old at this point.
Swear he was older than me

I don't want to pull for the Dodgers but at this point I'd cut off a couple fingers if it resulted in a SWEEP

The Nats have out done the Twins in playoff futility.

Speaking of that

The Indians are setting records
First team to ever blow two-game leads in back to back playoff seasons
Tied with Oakland for most straight elimination game losses ... Seven.

They've been awesome, yet will probably be known for the chokes

Many of us would kill for Francona, but he's developing a rep for not getting it done, ironically.

Whether people want to admit it or not, and the strict Saber people won't, there is a bit of luck playing a role in this.

Seager off the Dodger roster for the NLCS......a blow to the Dodgers.

Will Verlander step up today and show that he can still be a dominant pitcher?

Will Gardy be the Red Sox's next manager......I hope so......love for revenge to the Red Sox fans for what they did to Jim Eisenreich. Still bitter about their treatment of him in Fenway.

Old school playoff baseball, the stud starter goes the distance.

Seems like playoff baseball now is about have 3 studs in the bullpen.
