Go Vikes!

Fascinating game in Cinncy.
Thugs never win.
The biggest two thugs were the biggest two buffoons. Loved it.
Deserved every bit.

THIS

What's your take on today? I don't see containing Wilson. His running plays will hurt MN

No idea.
I need a Viking win.
I think our D can win this for us.
13-10 good guys.
I'm also worried they could blow us out again.
Afraid our offense will do zip again.

Rudolph McKinnon and thielen are our biggest hopes today.
If they make some plays we can win.

I'll be shocked if Loadholt ever plays another snap. Guys that size do not come back from Achilles tears.

Berger played very well, but he was the oldest starting center in the league. How long can you rely on a 34 year old?

Sully is good, but undersized. 2 back surgeries could be career ending.

If Loadholt does recover, his conditioning will be like a couch potato at equivalent weight. How does a 340-350 lb guy (and he will be all of that after not playing this season) get himself back into shape after a painful and difficult to rehab from achilles injury?

Follows Mauer's workout regimen.

Mauer's off season workout regimen

Stretch like a Catcher would
Eat Brats and cheese
Take 100 swings on a string and cup his dad made
Drink a Wine Cooler or Two
Eat more Brats and Cheese
Go to Bed

Day

after

Day

After

Day

Be defended by people he could not care less about

Local Guy here who played said they use Vaseline on bare arms, close the pores, look tough.
He said others just wore sleeves.

I'm a sleeves guy

Self proclaimed expert here
Wear

Dummies

Played in a similar temp ... Old school long sleeve waffle type underwear. By the end of a couple series, it was perfect temp to play.
If you stay moving once you work it up, you're fine.
The guys who stand around are screwed.

You're right Ed

Wilson scares the hell out of me. He's the difference today. Hoping he's cold.

Here we go.

We need to hang on to the ball.

Put a Spy on Wilson and don't over pursue on the rush.

Play field position, low scoring game.

Play action on early downs.

Nice job moving the ball from our end.

Terrible blocking on the 3rd and 1 play.

Terrible punt.

Let's get a 3 and out D.

We need to take advantage.

Only get 3, no imagination on those plays. Lucky the tipped pass to McKinnon didn't go for 6 the other way. We need to fake it Peterson more, get Rudolph going.

All things considered, it was a pretty good first half. Need to keep doing what we're doing with a little more play action passing. Take advantage of good field position if/when we get it and hold on to the ball.

12-10

Nope

10-9 L

L for settling for 3 early

L for letting Peterson fumble

L for Munnerlyn not being in control on the huge pass play.

L for Josh Robinson trying to cover Baldwin on the TD

L for Walsh

You cannot make this crap up. You simply cannot. And my dad and I both agreed that the Vikings would drive down for a final FG attempt and that disaster would prevail.

Brutal, brutal loss, but you have to take the long view. The Vikes and Twins this year aren't a lot different. This year was a "gravy" year, as painful as it is and how close we were. The future is so bright for both.

Teddy is a heck of a QB and outplayed Wilson today, in brutal conditions.
This defense is for REAL. When your 2nd worst player on defense is arguably Chad Greenway (Sendejo #1), you have a hell of a defense. And it's only going to get better as they're young.
Our coach is a stud. Best the Vikings have had in my lifetime.

This is painful but this team will learn and grow from this, and be better for it. We are going to be TRUE contenders for the next 5-6 years, minimum. Can't wait.

About 35 days until pitchers/catchers report.... Spring can't come fast enough.

Oh, and I'd like to lock Bud Grant and Mike Wallace in a room together for about 5 minutes...

Twins have a long ways to go to get to where the Vikings are. And a LOT more question marks.

Why? Wallace wouldn't even know who he is. He is no Viking.

Vikes have a lot of nice pieces, especially on D. It will be an interesting offseason to see how we improve. Still lots of areas of need. Some of the most expensive guys underperformed and could/should be gone or restructured. I have way more faith that the Vikings will improve more quickly than the Twins.
