Some doc on ESPN says the dislocated knee may never allow TB to get back to the mobility he had. Wow.

I heard a few orthapedists say that it wll ultimately come down to the degree of cartilage damage.

Source confirms tibiofemoral dislocation, ruptured ACL for Bridgewater. "Trainers may have saved his leg and career by quick action."

Tibiofemoral dislocation ... basically, Bridgewater's femur (upper leg) went off the tibia (shin, lower leg.)

Maybe the Twins should send their medical staff on crack ... er... crack medical staff to Winter Park to learn from the Vikings staff.

These days I know a lot more about a hip dislocation than a couple of months before. Teddy's dislocation sounds awful

Hope they can rebuild him. Hope they have the technology. Hope they can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.

Twins are still trying to master the technology of crutches and that thing around doctors' neck called a stetho.....what is it called again?

One good thing ...
We won't be everybody's darlings anymore.
Maybe a good thing.
Put that chip on the shoulder boys.
Its never that fun to be the favorite every week, anyway.

I think Zimmer is better when he can foster the "underdog" feeling in his team.

We will definitely be the underdogs if the QB situation doesn't improve soon.

Enjoyed the last preseason game in Seattle.
My take so far?

We may be the best team I've ever seen, who plan to go into battle with two completely inept kickers/punters.
This could be painful.

That is probably an even bigger failure by the front office than going into a season with an inept bullpen.

I am more worried about our backup QB than either the punter/kicker.

+1

Phil nailed it.

Wow Spielman surprises with big trade. Bradford for a 1st and a 4th. Price seems high to me, but I admit I'm not that familiar with Bradford. Hope he's worth it. Glad we got someone other than Hill.

I think it's a very high price.

But the window is open right now.
Something the Twins never got.

High price, but nice to see an org saying "we need to get better, now"
As Ed says ... frustrating watching our Twins not understand that principle, decade after decade.
Disgraceful to have great individuals (as in two MVPs, a Cy, on the same roster, near the same age ...) and let that window close.
I'll give the Wild and the Vikings credit.
At least they are TRYING and spending ... to be better every day.

Wow...how long is Bradford under contract? This tells me the Vikes feel Bridgewater's football career is over, for all intents and purposes.

Until they get in and do the surgery I doubt they know enough to say when he will be back. Spielman and Zimmer like their team and made a move that keeps them in the hunt.

You don't put 1 or 2 years of Smith/AD/Barr/Treadwell/Diggs/etc/etc/etc ...... ON HOLD WHILE YOU WAIT AND SEE.
This is professional sports.
The window opens and closes more quickly every year.
Why waste this defense?
You win TODAY, however it takes, whatever it takes.
Glad someone understands that.

Packers GM doesn't - which I'm sure makes you all happy.

I'm not paying as much attention to league as I used to, but isn't Sam Bradford a bust? Seems like a huge price to pay for a subpar QB.

Certainly hasn't lived up to his #1 pick status ... but he's not been a complete wipe-out.
Had a year in Philly that was like #3 or 4 in their history yardage-wise.
The only thing I can tell you without doubt is ... he's an upgrade to Shaun Hill.
And THAT is what we were looking for.

I agree, better to take the shot now than sit on our hands and hope, like Terry Ryan would've done.

It was a grown up move by a grown up franchise.

What I would expect Green Bay, Pittsburgh, or New England to do.
(Teams that have won the Big Ones)

Very Unminnesota and a move that impresses me immensely.

Bradford has warts but he'll put us in much better position than Hill until his injury.

Common is ripping apart this comment by Eagles GM Howie Roseman:

Roseman said it was a tough deal to make.

“I’m staring at the ceiling, wide awake, at 2:30,” Roseman said to Spielman, according to King, “and [wife] Mindy says, ‘You okay?’ I said, ‘No, I’m not okay. We’re about to change a lot of lives here.’”

“Same thing with me,” Spielman said in return. “Couldn’t sleep. I was out at 4 a.m. walking the dogs.”

How many lives did they change? Really, only Sam Bradford and his immediate family, right? And that barely counts. He changed the city he plays in. He's an NFL player. It comes with the territory. Beyond the Bradfords, who else's life actually changed from this?

All the coaching staffs, the fans, the other players, the stadium people, the parking lot guy, the radio sports guys, the National Media, the bookies, the bettors, Fantasy Footballers, ..how it affects future moves.......He's right.
