#1 star Bradford
#2 star Barr
#3 star Rhodes
#4 star Patterson
HM Rudolph

#1 goat Kendricks
#2 goat Walsh

Only 2 goats, not bad.

4-0 Can't believe it missing starting QB and starting RB. Bradford was a huge pickup by Spielman.

I'd give Rudy more than HM.. he made critical plays...

The honeymoon continues for Bradford and the Vikes.

Bring in kicking competition for tryouts during the bye week. A Walsh miss/week is getting ridiculous.

The D is tough. No huge sack numbers. They cover very well right now. Barr up the middle on a blitz is fun to watch.

SI.com rankings

2. Minnesota (4-0). LW: 3. You have to feel bad for Blair Walsh but man, it’s amazing that with all the roster blows they’ve taken, the Vikings’ biggest weakness right now is kicker.

Like how the passing game is starting to open up. Not always going enema on first and 2nd down.

That Sirles guy has been a HUGE backup off the bench, 2 weeks in a row.

I agree. When Boone went down last week, there was no drop off with Sirles at LG. Last night, I actually thought the RT play improved when Sirles went in for Smith. He may take someone's job before the year is over.

BTW, is anyone surprised that TJ Clemmings has stepped in and played better than Kalil? I don't mean to imply that he is playing anything close to pro bowl caliber LT, but he has been a significant upgrade over Kalil. He got beat a couple of times last night, but even then he was just enough of an impediment to give Bradford just enough time to roll away from the pressure and get rid of the ball.

Kalil has been a huge disappointment from day one. He just does not have quick feet and the necessary mobility to stay with these fast pass rushers.

No surprise. Kalil coming back this year was a mistake, but I spose they felt obligated to see if he was worth a crap after a year off, given he's a former #1 pick.

Window of opportunity:

Defensive players/age

Joseph/27
Stephen(who is playing as well as oft-injured Floyd)/25
Griffen/28
Hunter/21
Kendricks/24
Barr/24
Smith/27
Rhodes/26
Captain/28
Waynes/24
Sendejo(not my fave, but is ok, i guess, in the system)/29

Old Guys
Greenway/33
Robison/33
Newman/38
Johnson/32

A lot of the core has an opportunity, barring injuries, to be solid for several years.

Plus, I hope that in some spots, we get to see Kearse play at safety. Like him and Alexander for the future in the d-backfield.

Window of opportunity......a concept the Vikings seem to understand.

A concept that was way too abstract for TR and the Twins to comprehend.

Yep

Look at the offense, too

Bradford/28 and yes, they keep him next year. No brainer.
Diggs/22
McKinnon/24 and yes, AP can walk. Sad but true
Clemmings/24
Sirles/25
Fusco(still not liking him that much)/26
Boone/29
Rudolph/26
Patterson(if he starts playing more like last night)/25

And Treadwell hasn't even been on the field yet

We have the potential to get much better the way they are structuring things with all the main guys
THATS a winning mentality
You aren't focusing on one year, like your fans might be.
You are building a foundation that can be relevant for a decade.
The Twins and Vikings are in different universes in that regard.

Was worried early about this
Am more worried now
It's gonna cost us at some point
Shoulda been cut a day after last years debacle at the Bank
It's a black cloud we DO NOT NEED
Right or wrong, Zimmer hates the dude. He was livid at him the second he missed the Seattle gimme, and he gets madder (if that's possible) every time he pees down his leg these days.
Don't pretend you don't see Zimmers reactions. They're worse than the normal fan. It's no secret and it's a distraction we DO NOT NEED.

Helps that Bradford is getting more familiar, and Peterson is out. No Peterson means they have to get out of that stinkin' enema mentality. Thankfully.

Definitely. Falvey has a lot of work ahead of him. Speilman has drafted a lot of guys(and yes, some won't pan out) that can make plays.

I needed points in fantasy last night.
I felt good having only Rudolph.
He got me the win.
He's SAMs security blanket. As I've said before, if you are a hater, sucks for you, because SAMs not going away from him.

It's a great security blanket. And Rudolph knows it. He's split out for a TD,works the middle for big gains.

Sam throws the most easily catchable ball in football right now.
Always a tight spiral, always soft enough but almost always in the right spot.
He's made incredible throws that we haven't seen here in eons.
Sam has made us better. No ones telling me different.
