It's been so long since we had elite QB play around here--a land where, for many years, it seemed as though we had nothing BUT elite QB play--that I'd almost forgotten what it looked like! Favre in '09 was the last glimpse of it. Prior to that, maybe Daunte for a season or two. Tark/Kapp/Kramer/Moon spoiled us. Just like Killebrew/Allison/Oliva/Carew did, at the Met. Zimmer's next man up approach has saved the season. Everyone is tasked with being ready, and they step right in and contribute immediately. Let me say also that I do appreciate the "nasty" in Sirles' game...badly needed up front. Plays through every whistle. Last night we missed a few--throws, tackles, and playcalls. (Heard via radio interview of our long snaooer McDermott that Kyle Rudolph was left uncovered out wide not once, but twice last night! ) But we were good enough to hammer the NYG at something less than their full strength. We'll have to improve or we'll lose a few. Walsh? I'm with those who thought he should've been ushered out the door the week after the SEA game. I pull like heck for him, and he's not horrendous. But it's an Achilles heel that no champion has. Bye. Week. Tryouts.
