2. Minnesota (4-0). LW: 3. You have to feel bad for Blair Walsh but man, it’s amazing that with all the roster blows they’ve taken, the Vikings’ biggest weakness right now is kicker.

Was worried early about this
Am more worried now
It's gonna cost us at some point
Shoulda been cut a day after last years debacle at the Bank
It's a black cloud we DO NOT NEED
Right or wrong, Zimmer hates the dude. He was livid at him the second he missed the Seattle gimme, and he gets madder (if that's possible) every time he pees down his leg these days.
Don't pretend you don't see Zimmers reactions. They're worse than the normal fan. It's no secret and it's a distraction we DO NOT NEED.

One more week. THen have tryouts during the bye week. Cannot continue this way.

Agreed. Zimmer seethes. He was royally pissed at Griffen's offsides up 14-0, on 4th down, late in the first half. Missed kicks probably are taking years off his life.

Like how the passing game is starting to open up. Not always going enema on first and 2nd down.

Several deep attempts
Much better approach lately

Helps that Bradford is getting more familiar, and Peterson is out. No Peterson means they have to get out of that stinkin' enema mentality. Thankfully.

Sam throws the most easily catchable ball in football right now.
Always a tight spiral, always soft enough but almost always in the right spot.
He's made incredible throws that we haven't seen here in eons.
Sam has made us better. No ones telling me different.

No longer HOPING the QB can make a play thru the air.

makes a huge difference.

And I like Teddy. But they were still HOPING this year, IMO. Hoping he'd improve. hoping he could lead drives by passing consistently.

Bradford needs to come back next year.

Dare say it....this is a lot like Favre being added.

No, not the swagger or all that stuff.

But CONFIDENCE in the passing game again.

That makes me think of the Griffen interview over the summer. After a long, heartfelt spiel on how he really believes that Zim is the coach he has been waiting to play for his whole life, he wound it up with "I mean he's always crabby, but that's just how he is."

Bradford will be here without a doubt. Teddy being ready by next year is probably a pipe dream. Two things I notice with Sam over Teddy 1. He makes quicker decisions 2. He throws a much nicer ball at any distance.

Experience is a good thing in this case. I wonder how well Teddy reads defenses. IMO, Bradford rarely looks surprised by anything coming at him.

Btw
Love the change in philosophy and size we look for in our DBs
Love having smart coaches
Love doubling the other teams best threat
Love trusting physical corners to battle guys
Love keeping a couple old bucks to rein them all in
Munnerlyn and Newman are constantly making smart plays
Rhodes and Waynes are athletes who are only going to get better and better and better.
Harrison smith is the glue and the hammer at the same time. Holds us together, knocks distractions the hell out.

Near the end of the first half, NY goes for it on 4th down. 4th and 4 at MIN 42. Griffen was flagged for defensive offside and the 14-0 lead was 14-3. I thought Zimmer was going to go onto the field and beat the hell out of Griffen. Zimmer was livid at that point.

Walsh is definitely a problem that doesn't appear that it will correct itself until Walsh is cut.

I only want Walsh cut if we have someone better than him available to bring in. I hate the misses as much as anyone, but I don't want to cut off our nose to spite our face and bring in some yokel who isn't any better.

It's been so long since we had elite QB play around here--a land where, for many years, it seemed as though we had nothing BUT elite QB play--that I'd almost forgotten what it looked like! Favre in '09 was the last glimpse of it. Prior to that, maybe Daunte for a season or two. Tark/Kapp/Kramer/Moon spoiled us. Just like Killebrew/Allison/Oliva/Carew did, at the Met.

Zimmer's next man up approach has saved the season. Everyone is tasked with being ready, and they step right in and contribute immediately. Let me say also that I do appreciate the "nasty" in Sirles' game...badly needed up front. Plays through every whistle.

Last night we missed a few--throws, tackles, and playcalls. (Heard via radio interview of our long snaooer McDermott that Kyle Rudolph was left uncovered out wide not once, but twice last night! ) But we were good enough to hammer the NYG at something less than their full strength. We'll have to improve or we'll lose a few. Walsh? I'm with those who thought he should've been ushered out the door the week after the SEA game. I pull like heck for him, and he's not horrendous. But it's an Achilles heel that no champion has. Bye. Week. Tryouts.

People are floating Robby Gould, but I think that would be replacing a young, strong legged albeit inconsistent kicker with an old, even worse kicker for the sake of making a change.

The knee injuries made everyone forget that Bradford was the #1 overall pick for a reason.

Yup... Re :Walsh ... It's an Achilles heel that the BEST teams don't have hanging over their heads
Was a huge mistake not addressing this last winter.
We can't be one point better than others, we can't leave it in his hands, and that sucks.

OBJ is ALL they are talking about today on the national shows.
That sucks.
Had very little to do with last night.
Talk should be about what our D has done to three elite QBs in the first quarter of the season.

Manning, Newton, Rodgers ... One TD, Five INTs, and a bunch of sacks.
The Giants were smart last night, saving Eli's life by sacrificing the passing game.
They basically admitted their QB would not be attempting anything remotely dangerous.
Pretty damn nice to have a Defense that is that respected before the game even begins.
They voluntarily took half their passing game off the table. Incredible.

As usual, PTI the only national blowhard show who gets it.
Lead with Vikings.
And not because of OBJ.
They're impressed.

You ever seen the SEC Storied Documentary on the Mannings?
It's quite good and I like them all.
But Eli was kind of a cry baby.
Last night too.

He's also 3 TDs from passing John Elway for 7th, and he's going to pass Fran in a season or two and end up 6th.

He's going to have a Hall of Fame career without it ever feeling like he was good enough.
