Better fight in them last night than I expected, truthfully.
Cousins is one helluva QB
If he had the rams OLine they'd NEVER lose.
Our D is a mess, for sure.
The question now will be, can we dig out of a 1-4-1 hole?
Had to chuckle at Dipshit Buck and Troy last night ... "yeah the Vikings are on a brutal stretch, but look at the Rams! They have to go to Seattle and Arizona and Denver yet!" Whaaaaaaaaaa?

And no ... I will not post without complaining about the reffing.

No Rams holding. Not one. Yeah, right.
No rams PI. yeah, right.
Oh, and when you feel like it, pick up a flag when it might cost LA a big play.
Probably the most blatant "we want LA to do well tonight" actions you could possibly see.
The phantom holding call before half on us swung the game. mentioned it at the time. Took us off offense, gave them 7 points. The picked up flag? Another 3 points for sure.
The subtle swings killed us and were subtle enough so that few noticed.
Rams are good. And we went toe to toe with them for the most part.
We are not as good as I hoped we would be, but we are still loaded with some studs.
Thielen and Diggs and Cousins are incredible players. Love watching them play. At least we will always get an honest effort from them to get this thing straightened out.

Vikes DBs got flagged for the penalties on 3rd down. Rams? nope

You put Barr on WR TWICE in a game? That's bad coaching.

Our defensive emperor is pretty damn naked at this point.
The lack of a pass rush is suffocating our chances
We actually have some decent cover guys, but anyone can tear apart a D, when they do not get pressure for 5-6-7 seconds.
Goff is a good kid who played very well, but he's no Cousins. Cousins put up the same numbers, with less weapons and zero time.
His throws are almost always under duress and while backpedaling. Helluvan arm. He can look bad at times on a throw because he HAS to anticipate our receivers getting to a spot.
With an OLine like the Rams, Goff waits until his guys open up. Must be nice.
We've GOT to bring more pressure somehow.

Look, something about our defense was clearly exposed in the playoffs last year. I can't really say that we have seen good defensive play since the first half of the New Orleans game. Something has clearly been figured out and Zim doesn't seem to know how to counter it.

And Gurley. No design should have Barr solely responsible for covering Gurley that far downfield.

As far as him on the WR's, I'd like to think there were missed assignments. Otherwise, Zimmer lost his mind.

They're not getting a whole lot done in the front 6/7

Rams were running downhill most of the night. Run straight at them. Chew up the yardage.

Bootleg off it? no contain.

I get that Rhodes is high paid has done well and such

But his penalties this year are too many. His owies are too often

Waynes must have been concussed early. One TD he just watched it float in. Never put his hands up.

I'd play the kid from TX before Alexander.

In the second half, at times, the dime corner package was

Hill
Hughes
Alexander
Kearse

Who saw that coming?

And yet despite that MN got the ball back and Reiff basically whiffed on some rook DE

Game over.

Aikman was on Cousins for not stepping up. The DT were making a push. Maybe he didn't get rid of it quickly enough, I don't know.

But that IMO was not on the QB at all.

I think there is promise with three of those four. Obviously they aren't there yet, but I like them.

I agree, Ed. That play was Reiff getting his ass kick as he has been from the opening snap of the season. He's been absolutely brutal.

I think Philly found something glaring and hammered it. Other teams watched the film and are following suit.

We have a couple of Olinemen who are just getting ABUSED all night long.

And Barr's one on one coverage of Kupp on the 70 yard TD........how does that happen in a properly run defensive scheme.

Notice at the end when they stopped the Rams it was Kearse on the slot receiver vs Barr.

That was an adjustment they just weren't willing to make early, IMO

Maybe that's what Philly figured out. Maybe Zim's schemes and defensive play call give them ability to create mismatches.

Can't argue with a word of it, except maybe the 1-4-1 part. I don't think we lose to Cardinals. Reffing sucked for sure, but still didn't deserve to win with that defensive performance.

Yep, it sucks that we've invested so much $$$ and so much draft capital into a squad that has become a weakness. They are toothless, sitting back and playing coverage for the most part but playing it poorly. When they blitz the blitzer rarely gets home. Someone needs to figure this out soon or Zim needs to go.

On Thursday, Adam Thielen became the first player with 100 receiving yards in each of his team's first 4 games since Randy Moss in 2007. Isaac Bruce (2004) is the only other player to do so since the 1970 merger.
