The opt outs are continuing.

The new DT the Vikings signed says no thanks to a 2020 season.

He made the right decision. He was super high risk with Asthma and a recent bout of pneumonia.
I haven't heard it's official yet, but seems like a done deal that Cook is reporting today.

It is official

Dalvin Cook reports to Training Camp on time
8 NEW, 8
And that’s the end of that

NFL: NFC Wild Card-Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints
Chuck Cook -USA TODAY Sports
Ladies and gentlemen, our short, regional nightmare is over.

When the Minnesota Vikings’ veterans reported to camp on Tuesday, running back Dalvin Cook was with them, ending the speculation that he would hold out. He had said earlier this offseason that Cook would not participate in any team activities until he received a “reasonable” contract extension offer.

This also brings an end to the game of “telephone” that happened over this past weekend, where Cook’s agent and Mike Zimmer went back and forth about whether or not the head coach had spoken with Cook about his intention of reporting to camp.

Cook is in the final year of his four-year rookie contract, and with the new rules that the NFL has put forth concerning COVID-19 Cook now only has to play in one game to pick up an accrued season to allow him to hit unrestricted free agency before the 2021 season if the Vikings do not sign him to an extension before then.

Hopefully the Vikings and Cook can work something out, whether it’s during the preseason or the actual season itself. For now, however, the star running back is officially in the fold and will not be holding out.

So we have that going for us. Which is nice.

I believe in 3 years our O Line will be elite. Cleveland, Udoh, Bradbury, Samia and O'Neill.
Hopefully they will still be coached by Kubiak.

Dude

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs spoke to local media for the first time since he was traded from the Minnesota Vikings in March, expressing excitement over his new opportunity in western New York.

He also bristled at the notion that he forced his way out of Minnesota.

When asked what made him believe his current situation would be better than his previous one, given that he vocally expressed his displeasure with the Vikings, Diggs claimed he never expressed his concerns publicly.

"As far as my past with Minnesota, I never actually said anything," he said Wednesday. "But, to this new situation, I'm excited. There is no right or wrong or problems to be fixed from my old situation. I have a lot of respect for the Minnesota Vikings. At that time, a trade happened -- you've kind of got to look at it for what it is. But I never really was vocal about what I did or didn't like (in Minnesota)."

The Vikings fined Diggs more than $200,000 last season for unexcused absences from practices and meetings, sources told ESPN in October, when he missed multiple meetings and practices in the days leading up to the team's game against the New York Giants. Rumors swirled about a potential trade involving Diggs - rumors which he admit there was some "truth" to.

Ultimately, Diggs remained a Viking through the entirety of the 2019 season, finishing with a career-high 1,130 yards and six touchdowns on 63 catches.

However, shortly after the Vikings signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to an extension in March, Diggs tweeted out, "it's time for a new beginning" which struck teams around the league as a sign the receiver wanted out of Minnesota. He was traded to the Bills later that night.

He referenced the tweet during his press conference but downplayed it being a vocal complaint.

"I never really was too vocal about it," he reiterated. "'It's time for a new beginning' was enough said. I am super excited for my new situation, this is also a great organization built on a lot of hard-working guys. A lot of guys that really grinded to get to where they're at.

"I trust the people that are in place, I'm just happy to be a part of it. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel or anything, I just want to be as helpful as I can, be a puzzle piece and try to mesh as well as I can to help this team win."

-- Bengals cornerback Trae Waynes could be on the mend for a while after suffering a pectoral injury during Monday's practice, a source confirmed to ESPN.

According to a report from NFL Network, Waynes is seeking a second opinion on the injury and could be out for up to two months.

Gives him more time to sell the house he listed for 2 Mill in the metro.

Two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Tom Flores and standout wide receiver Drew Pearson are finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's class of 2021.

Getting closer to the

Hall of Very Good

with both of them

Flores was a decent coach but HOF cuz you won a Super Bowl? meh

Drew Pearson is like Paul Warfield to me

Both very good. HOF? Not so sure.

How is that not offensive pass interference?

Told him I've been asking myself that for over 40 years

You bring to mind the play where Jordan pushes Hornacek by him as he sinks the winning shot in I think game 7 of the NBA finals.

What is the deal with Paul Allen's hair? Looking for attention? He looks like he walked out of Fergus. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Thank god.

Dude is expensive and not very good. Can hold his own against weak opponents, but gets killed by good players.

Vikings have a lot more interesting young players to try at his position.

Riley Reiff isn't going anywhere.

The Vikings have finalized a restructured contract with their starting left tackle that will keep him in Minnesota for at least the 2020 season, according to multiple reports.

Like I said in the Vikings forum. I'm actually disappointed. We now have another year of watching Reiff get destroyed by anything more than a mediocre pass rusher.
