Teams are set up differently though. So if you have a weak defense but a great offense you are going to lose when the coin flip doesn't go your way every time. I'd prefer both teams are guaranteed a chance with the ball. So at the very least a "you get a chance for a TD too" approach.

If your defense is that weak, you deserve to lose.

I'm one of the few people who actually likes the college OT system.

You can't play all day. Just call it what it is - a tie.

It may not be a bad idea to just abolish OT altogether.

In the playoffs, if you finish in a tie, you both lose. The opponent next week gets a bye.

Few people? I'd say that the vast majority of people love the college OT system.

Ties are for communists (and soccer fans, which are one and the same).

So teams could win a championship without playing the final game?

Just make OT an entire quarter.

Seems simple enough to me. If it's still tied, it ends in a tie. I hate ties, but understand it for football -- anymore than 75 minutes of gametime and you're begging for massive injuries.

@Andrew_Krammer
Zimmer said MRI on Teddy Bridgewater came back without showing any major damage. "Feels better today" hopeful for Thursday

Didn't follow him closely in college (and although I did not bash him pre-draft, in full disclosure, I was/am a Manziel bobo), but I hear he's played through this sort of thing before.

Man that would make for a pretty boring Super Bowl...

I guess they'd have even more time for commercials...

Forget the coin flip - have a quick simple skills competition to decide who gets the ball.

Longest punt for example.

Keep the current FG/TD rules in effect.

Not sure I've ever seen this before ....
This 100% buy-in on a rookie, who technically hasn't completed one full NFL game yet.
Where's all the shutter-downers that usually get all over those of us who get excited by great debuts?
Hey, I'm all for us finally getting it right ..... But should we maybe just wait a week or two before completely freaking out?

The differences you have to show between being a Twin fan, and a Viking fan are amazing.
Here we are today, some still not sure if 500 losses in four years means Gardy sucks or not.
But we're completely convinced 56 minutes of pretty good football has us winning the next twelve Super Bowls.

Now Now, don't be grumpy beacuse you were/are wrong about John Manzielly.

If we can think, even for 4 days that the we have our first bonafide guy since Tommy Kramer, let us do that.

If we can get him to rub his fingers together like Johnny Football will it make you less pissy?

1....2.....3......4.......
(counting the "normally overzealous shutter-downers" who've suddenly thrown all caution to the wind) ........
