The Teddy Era starts well.
The D bent but didn't break.

Love outdoor football.
I cant freaking believe we still have to watch Ponder take snaps.

Talk about a game that makes our draft look good.
Bridgewater, Barr and McKinnon for a start.

PRetty good last 2 drafts. Rhodes played tough on the right side. Captain disappointed. Bad read on the White TD, and they missed a bunch of tackles, including both TDs to that side by the RB and Hester.

Oh yeah ... forgot ... the much-maligned OLine was outstanding today.
Time to pass like we haven't seen for years.

Huge running game made play-action so easy.

Maybe that Vlad-guy is>>>> than Fusco??

Yep, Ed
Disappointed in the tackling during the scary periods.
But good enough to overcome.
Harrison Smith is highly-underrated for what he brings to us.
A true safety valve for all of our cover guys. he's always waiting to help, or just flat-out BLOW SOMEONE UP

He is the backbone of the D, no doubt.

Would like to see Barr make more big plays.

This was encouraging. Short week, GB on the road, they kicked butt.

And we feel very short-handed yet
I still trust in Zimmer, even tho his HC decisions weren't what I would have made today.
I think he will instill a much better attitude in our defenders and overall team.
They were resilient today.
In the past, we go down like that in the third, we would have went FECAL

no doubt, how many times have they played well, only to fizzle out and do zip in the 2nd half.

Gutsy to have the FG late. Walsh nailed it.

Locke needs a kick in thenuts. Punt the damn ball. 24 yard shank. Pathetic.

The Vikes have multiple explosive players. Many more than 2 years ago.

Couldn't believe Zimmer (who is ultimately, pretty conservative) went for the long FG
I also cant believe how easily Walsh nails those.
those are INCREDIBLY difficult kicks when you factor pressure, distance, situation ....
Walsh is straight up cash money homey

Both the Gophers and Vikes ... biggest improvements result of better athletes in the esecondary, imo.
Our guys are aggressive and bigger and learning every day.
Its the only way to build a team now. If you cant cover, you cant win. imo

I'm posting this here because it's sane. If you say something negative in the Vikes threads you automatically become some kind of hater. It's baffeling.

The goods have been pointed out numerous times. The bads:

Coverage breakdowns on the first 2 TD's. Damn that was frustrating.

Not much pressure in the first half on Ryan.

Rush D was again suspect at times.

The 2 2nd half TD's were atrocious tackling and angles. Especially by Cap'n and Blanton.

The TO to determine if we go for it or a FG. Come on Zimm ~ you're the head man now. That has to be a given and you should be thinking of that in the play(s) leading up to that. What a waste.

The "call" for the QB sneak. I was like "WTF?". Didn't like that at all.

Charlie Johnson ~ overall was ok but had a few blunders that were pretty glaring.

The "goods" that aren't getting much play.

Good Norv. Man, he made some fantastic calls, at times. Not all good but he's human. Overall, pretty fantastic.

The Oline - ~ where did these guys come from?

Teddy, obviously but damn. Think about this. That is a rookie starting his first game.

No dropped balls that I can remember.

No BATTED balls ~ aka ~ the Cassell Slider. Thrown every 3 pitches.

Good point man. The speed on this team is soooo much better. If we make 2 routine plays, where guys were right there, it could've been even more of an ass whoopin'.

1. Cap'n had Hester wrapped up, just didn't execute.

2. Blanton took the worst angle on the screen I think a person could possibly take. It was brutal.

Can you imagine some of those goobers in the Vikes thread if they were in the white board session of the Manhattan project?

Well, it could kill millions of innocent people

Felton again shows why he's been all-pro/pro bowler.

I'm more confident in this team's ability to get off the field than in a long time. Will be sorely tested TH.

Am not a Blanton fan. at all.

He's been bad for sure. One of, if not THE, biggest need in the offseason and I would prefer to pay a vet. We are close on D.

May be an immediate need, not one we can wait for.

Outdoors is pretty awesome. Metrodome was sooo artificial. Hopefully the new stadium has that outdoor feel (glass roof, open on one end when doors are open). I wanted a retractable roof until they played at Indy a couple years ago. Roof was open but shadows were awful. Here's to no shadows at our new stadium!
