Kiper and cowherd just debated the Teddy/Manziel issue

Another sure sign the apocalypse is approaching .... Mr metalHair nailed every thought of mine .....

Saban is a defensive genius
Manziels biggest games were against him
Even after having time to prepare for him
The NfL is changing ... It protects QBs at all costs
Mel, too, sees Fran II
He's inventive, creative, and a loose cannon
There's no real six foot five statue passer available
Let's go get him and have fun for a change
Let's be honest, the kids a complete crapshoot ... Could be a total bust, could be a game changing icon
I like rolling the dice once in awhile
Playing safe is for wusses who've never won it all

Ok...you're big on Manziel. I don't mind that.

Gotta be more to the Bridgewater deal than, he's not Manziel, the guy I want...

Everything I have read to this point says that Bridgewater is the QB prize of this draft. He is supposed to be a completion machine, with a big arm, athletic ability high football IQ. If he is half as good as the scouting reports I have read, the Vikings would e incredibly lucky to have him fall in their laps. I have a hard time believing he drops out of the top 3. Like Todd, I would go all in to get him.

I don't know how I feel about Manziel. I agree that the whole "short QB" thing is over rated. My concern is does he play a style of football that is going to cause him to miss a lot of games due to injury.

I'd be thrilled if we ended up with either one.

Thanks Matt.
Spent last week in Playa Del Carmen. My 35 year old son finally got married!!! Wasn't sure it was going to happen, but it looks like they were made for each other. We had 40 guests and had one heck of a time. It was at the Royal an all inclusive adult only resort. One of the most enjoyable places I've ever stayed.

If so, we were there for the week of Christmas. Was awesome!

Dude!
My youngest son and his girlfriend spent last weekend in Playa Del Carmen!
I shoulda told him to mooch off you, instead of his GFs parents!
What a great week to be down there ... It was basically below zero here for the entire ten days they went.
He stands around now shivering like a little puppy

Um, I haven't kicked the caffeine yet.

I crabby because my pregnant wife is a basket case half the time and the other half just bitchy.

I work two jobs and get little sleep (and I know that's not going to get any better once the baby is born).

Caffeine right now, even though I should ween myself off of it, is sort of a necessary evil.

Man, I am jealous -- agree with SMF, last week was the best week in years to be somewhere warm. Congrats to your son, Steve!

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings and in-limbo Browns OC Nrov Turner "are close to a deal" that will make Turner the Vikings' offensive coordinator.

We spent last week in Florida ourselves. Who knew when we booked that trip 6 months ago we would have chosen the coldest week of the year (hopefully) to be south and on the beach?

Yes, I recall you reminding us last week that you were sitting on a beach.

According to the Pioneer Press, Zimmer is close to agreements with Norv Turner to be OC and the Dolphins LB coach George Edwards to be the DC. Edwards has been DC with Buffalo and Washington in the past.

Trying hard to think up some horrible mistake I can attach sixthwis name too ........ Hmmmmmm

If I recall correctly, Kerry wanted a lifetime deal for Blackburn and was pissed when we only gave him four years.

Good one.
Or that time he hunger-striked until Gardy was re-upped .... That was probably his strangest support for a horrible idea

Don't forget that I loved the Capps trade and re-up just like my good buddy Jeff.  And the JJ Hardy trade for two hall of fame relievers was the best Jerry, the best.

Not familiar with Edwards. Wonder if Zimmer will be the de facto DC, or if he'll let Edwards truly be his own DC. I have nothing to go on, but feel like the former is the more likely scenario.

Great to get Turner. Power running, play action, throw deep. What a novel concept when you have AD...

And it appears that Norm's son will be the QB coach. I imagine that Zimmer will bring his son along as well

And a QB who CAN throw deep is mandatory. Thus, the end of the Ponder era.

One would certainly hope so.

I'm hoping that these moves increase the chances Cassel stays. Obviously not a long term answer, but if we draft someone but don't want to pressure him, Cassel can start the season, and he is at worst a good backup.

I'd like them to make the right moves with a new QB should we draft one.

By that I mean, doesn't start OR sit regardless od draft status. If he is your best QB, he wins the job, if he's not ready he's not ready.

And if he's not ready it doesn't mean he holds a clipboard all year. Get him sone snaps in games that have been decided in the 4th qtr.

IF the whole Freeman fiasco was a joint effort of Spielman/Frazier, or whomever, hopefully Ricky learned from it and will
allow the head coach to make the right decisions. Ditto the Wilfs.

I guess I was one of those, wasn't I? I specifically did NOT post anything on Facebook while I was gone because I didn't want to be one of "those" but forgot myself here. I'll be better now because I'm not going anywhere interesting for at least another year.

If it indeed is Turner, I would be all for D in the first (prefer a stud LB) and get Metz in the 2nd. Dude has a cannon and would be ideal for play action, go deep IMO.
