Well, it was ALS that Wally Hilgenburg was originally diagnosed with and the cause of his death.

So why don't they announce that it was repetitive brain trauma that caused OT's death rather than ALS?

Hopefully, the family will let the doctors in Mass study OT's brain so they can put another dagger into the NFL and repetitive hits in football.

They have got to do something to address this problem.

42, like his number.

Are we sure?

This isn't the first time it's been reported that he died.

Sad.

So Sad to die so young.

I'm actually older than he was.

EEEEEK. That's a little sobering.

Watched the 30 for 30. It was interesting and helps explain why Randy is the way he is. Randy obviously has to take responsibility for the stuff he did, but it didn't help that he had to deal with an entire region of West Virginia hillbillies on a daily basis.

It was interesting. I was disappointed with the lack of Vikings highlights and talk though.

I may have heard the stat wrong in the last few weeks, but I believe West Virginia is the only state to LOSE population in the last 50-60 years.

The thing is, we know Randy's Vikings story. So this was something we didn't know as much about. We can put the Vikings part of his story together on our own. Now I feel like I know Randy Moss the man. It was well done. Didn't those 30 for 30's used to be 2 hours long? When did that change? If it had been 2 hours, you would have got more Vikings stuff. But maybe the HS and college stuff would have lost some impact. There could always be a Part II.

The time varies for each one. They're all independent films, so some have been as little as 30 minutes and others 2 hours. Still maybe the best thing going on TV for me. Great series. Thank you again, Bill Simmons.

It was cool and I agree, I didn't realize he went through so much shit, so early.  I knew he had issues growing up but not like that.

Bill Simmons has single handedly kept sports at the top of my entertainment interests.
The one Red Sox fan worth his salt on the planet.

Yep. He's by far the best going IMO. I really hope he gets fired by ESPN because I would love to see him go to town for a few years.

I wonder what his rights deal is like for the 30 for 30 series.

As usual, we hit Cheecago at the very worst time.
The Bears will pound us, it will be over early.
This is professional sports.
Any time a team is at its lowest, you never want to play them, esp at their home.
We simply never catch a break here.

National media has been laughing at the Bears this week.
I've seen that done 3,964 times in my life ... And every one of those teams looked like world-beaters in their next game.
It's inevitable.

It's inevitable that a MN team makes them look like world-beaters.

I have a hard time recalling any MN team turning the tables and kicking the crap out of a good team when we're the one at the bottom though... Why do you think that is?

Watched the Moss episode last night,
The story reminded me of the song Hurricane by Bob Dylan.
That HS redneck bastard had whatever beating was put on him and the trumped up Marijuana charges were BS as well.

I never and I mean never understood the heat that guy took in Minnesota, a fake mooning, some misinterpreted quotes, big deal.

The truth is he makes many white people uncomfortable and people responded to and acted on that.

Give me 22 Randy MOSSs and we will kick your teams ass everytime.

The Dude had it.

I don't think he took heat in MN.  In the national media, hell yes.   The fans, as far as I know, never turned on him.  I certainly didn't.   Red Mcdickhead only traded him out of spite that he didn't get his stadium.

Sorry,
Yes, that's what I meant, from the National Media and the court of Public Opinion Outside of Minnesota,
during his time in Minnesota.

Yeah, totally agree.  The shit he took from idiots like Joe Buck was insane.  That fake moon might have been his greatest contribution to sports.  I have family that live in the GB area and they loved it.  Why?  Because they know the context of the whole situation.

What ESPN and FOX failed to mention was the history behind that because it would make GB look bad....

Squirting the ref was actually much worse and even that wasn't that bad.

The traffic cop was, IMO, a traffic cop going over board.

The plane incident was nothing.

The "I play when I want to play" quote was taken so out of context the writers that wrote shit about it better be ashamed of themselves.  They knew exactly what he meant but that doesn't sell papers.

That's really all he did (from memory)

I polled every Packer fan I know after the fake moon. They unanimously said they thought it was hilarious. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of Packer fans loved Moss because he would back and forth and talk smack with them every time we played at Lambeau.

Joe Buck is a self important, self righteous, self absorbed f***ing moron. I despised him above all other sports broadcasters before Moon Gate and hated him even more after it.
