quarterback Robert Griffin III had a bad outing Sunday, throwing two interceptions and taking six sacks — against a statistically bad defense — in a home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Griffin started his postgame news conference in the right way, shouldering the blame, saying, “I have to do better.”

RG3 then said the Redskins "can’t throw knives and stab each other in the back."

Right before he threw knives at his teammates and stabbed them in the back (about the 2:09 mark of the video above).

“It takes 11 men," Griffin said. "It doesn’t take one guy, and that’s proven. If you want to look at the good teams in this league and the great quarterbacks, the Peytons and the Aaron Rodgers, those guys don’t play well if their guys don’t play well. They don’t.

"We need everybody. I need every one of those guys in that locker room, and I know they’re looking at me saying the same thing.”

Yuck

Blanton 10-20 yards in front of the deepest WR.

Twice.

There are no alternatives to play beside this guy?

Kalil is incredibly bad.

Bridgewater is going through growing pains. Have to get open guy further than 3 yards down field.

Very embarrasssing, and the Pack come to town to destroy this week.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents conducted surprise inspections of the medical and training staffs of visiting NFL teams on Sunday, per multiple reports.

According to the reports, the inspections were "unprecedented" and were done in an attempt to determine whether the staffs "violated federal drug laws governing the handling and distribution of prescription painkillers."

My guess? Someone gave them a headsup anyway. It's the NFL. Their power is right up there.

This. That's what I love about the guy and why I'm with you in patience for a while.

Saw a great story on a former NFL player who used marijuana to help deal with the pain when he played a couple of weeks ago. He said marijuana use to deal with pain is widespread throughout the league.

The NFL policy on drugs such as marijuana....like a year suspension.......whereas the lack of any guidelines for dealing with players who are violent off the field is unbelievable.

Too many people still think of the movie Reefer Madness in terms of views of marijuana.

I agree and it bugs me. I esp hate it when the exaggerate on tv shows. They make them act more like their on acid than having had smoked a little reefer.

Doesn't do shit for my pain though. It's just like a drink or two at the end of the day for me. Relaxes me.

I agree about the Reefer Madness stuff Miles, but two things really bother me about Marijuana.

1. The pain part. Sure it applies, but 90%of the people who use it and claim pain relief, would likely use it anyways.
If you want to use it fine, but just say you like watching TV on it, eating on it, listening to music on it, whatever.

2. My best friend is a 25 year user.
Which means he has to do it before he does anything.
Go to a game, get baked first. Concert, get baked first. Skiiing get baked first.
Movie
Golf
Fishing
passenger on a road trip
camping meal
drinking
take the kids sledding
poker.

You name it, he needs to get baked first, and those of us that don't, have to wait.

This will be the new normal.

Gosh, they claim it's not addictive. Of course we've always known otherwise, but that IS the logline isn't it?

Two of my favorite posters back to back on the issue.
Great stuff, because I think Todd should feel ok about using it, but my concerns were perfectly stated by Murf.
Not a user myself, but I've dealt with and lived with users my whole life.
Don't hate em or hold it against them, but do worry about them, both for legal and mental health reasons.

Trying to think of any of these things I'd rather do - not high.

I'm probably a bigger pot head than I feel I am...but I do think I'm ok. My wife and her 'wants' make me feel like a light partaker. She bad.

One big difference...when we get home together...I'm happy as shit to have a nice relaxing smoke...but she wants another and another...

I get scolded all the time about not knowing what I'm talking about when I say users are easy to spot.
I've coached hundreds of kids and I've pointed out every user so far.
Definite changes in their play, their demeanor, and their attitudes. I've called it EVERY time.
Not something I'm proud of, just saying, if I'm able to discern differences, then .. there are surely differences in behavior caused by use.

Let me preface........

I have not or do not plan on using marijuana. But if it can truly ease pain, then medical marijuana makes sense. And if I come down with cancer and marijuana will ease my pain, I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Morphine is addictive yet can be used when prescribed. Decriminalization and even legalization is fine with me but my greatest concern is driving while or after using. We do need to develop tests so that we can measure impairment and cause and effect to pot in terms of driving. Until then, why the devil doesn't MADD expand its efforts and go after distracted driving in general including texting and driving and smoking a joint and driving.

But the negative effects on society for marijuana pale in comparison to the negative effects on society by alcohol. Yet we won't go on the path of prohibition ever again and rightly so.

But this unbelievable overkill for a pot smoker by the NFL (or other major sports) vs. things like domestic violence just blows my mind away.

And what if pot is addictive? What if it has some mental consequences? Alcohol is addictive for many. It is used by people who then go and drive and kill people. Perhaps it serves as a gateway drug for some because those are the types who will gravitate toward more addictive and dangerous substances regardless of whether or not pot is used. Were pot legal, I see it no more as a gateway drug than alcohol.

We would have these arguments when I was in junior high and high school. I didn't drink in high school. But the moral indignation toward pot versus the acceptance of alcohol continues to amaze me.

Eating is addictive. Let's ban overeating.

Posting on this forum is addictive.

We're all addicts.

Some more than others.

Funny, and probably true.
I recently quit chewing after 25 years,
Take my list and apply chew, guess what, hell yeah chew on or before or after all those.
Now, I'm having to relearn behaviors and activities I like without chew and some of them are really hard.

Driving
Fly Fishing
golf
talkvikes on my ipad
you name it

I would suggest a very good read.

"Out of Their League" by Dave Meggyesy

Description at Amazon
Dave Meggyesy had been an outside linebacker with the St. Louis Cardinals for seven years when he quit at the height of his career to tell about the dehumanizing side of the game—about the fraud and the payoffs, the racism, drug abuse, and incredible violence. The original publication of Out of Their League shocked readers and provoked the outraged response that rocked the sports world in the 1970s. But his memoir is also a moving description of a man who struggled for social justice and personal liberation. Meggyesy has continued this journey and remains an active champion for players’ rights through his work with the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). He provides a preface for this Bison Books edition.

Could not agree more!

Smoking and driving. Tough one. If I were able to land the kind of pot that's out there...the good stuff and not what I jokingly refer to as 'bud light' I'd say driving would be a big no no. But I have a fairly high tolerance and smoke relatively tame pot. Saying that...I've never shied away from smoking and driving. I got away with drinking and driving as a youth and would never think to do so now. Probably some gray hypocritical lines I'm blurring. Just trying to be honest.

I think it's going to be tough to implement anything but a zero tolerance policy. Which I guess would be fine. Should be for alcohol.

I'm all for legalization
I've been high maybe a hundred times or so, but there will be consequences to legalization that are not generally discussed.
The behavior, motivation, memory all suffer. I have witnessed multiple patients in a 25 year research study that I call life.
The one time I drove stoned, I had a hard time going as fast as the speed limit.

I like to smoke a cigar about 4 times a year.
Completely legal pot would be the same, likely done 4 times a year.
I'd have been OK if it stayed illegal as well.

Glad to hear you quit the chew.

Nasty habit.

Bad bad consequences.

The only tobacco I want is a once or twice a year cigar.

My father had emphysema. Remember our pigs (probably a litter of 2 month old pigs) getting out of the pen on the farm and we having to chase, catch and put them back in the pen. He was on the post leaned over, trying to get his breath. He smoked, quit and then started up again but never smoked in the house. he had quit 10 years before he was diagnosed with emphysema. All his contemporaries had triple or quadruple bypasses and were good as gold. There was nothing that could be done for him so he lived with shortness of breath for 9 years. That is the one concern that I have for pot smokers........there are no filters and the carcinogens and lung issues are present for pot as they are for cigarettes. Difference and it is huge, people will be 2 to 3 pack a day smokers. People who were to smoke the same amount of pot would be nonfunctional.

I think smoking in general is going to hit a huge decline.

People are going to vape their tobacco and pot more and more I believe.
