Watching the Angels/Cubs game on MLB. Alex Meyer is pitching for the Angels. Same crap different day for him. Two runs allowed so far in his one inning with three walks.

Didn't bother me a bit losing Meyer. I don't think he will ever truly establish his command of the strike zone.

Who does that remind you of??

I thought Berrios right away. Good call on Banks and Mahomes.

I thought Ed was thinking Francisco Liriano.

Trevor Plouffe off to a rough start in Oakland.
Was hoping he'd start off hot, but it appears he's in one of those bad streaks, may get him behind the eight ball there, unfortunately.
Not that anybody cares too much in Oakland these days.
Seems like the place players go to die, imo.

Plouffe will work out of it.

Liriano only went 1/3 of an inning and gave up 5 runs tonight. A career-worst. Ouch!!! That will be a tough ERA hole to dig out of.

The Mariners announced that they’ve outrighted reliever Casey Fien to Triple-A Tacoma, thus removing him from the 40-man roster. Fien’s spot on the 25-man roster will go to fellow right-handed reliever Evan Marshall, who has been recalled from Tacoma.

In five outings, he was tagged for seven earned runs on seven hits (two of them long balls) and three walks, while logging five strikeouts. He was still showing a 93 mph average fastball, though, and was missing bats (16.9% swinging-strike rate) in his brief stint, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see him back up — whether or not it’s with the M’s — at some point this year.

Hicks homers twice, Yanks beat Rays 3-2 to move over .500

NEW YORK — Aaron Hicks and Luis Severino, two of the Yankees' biggest disappointments last year, combined to push them over .500 for the first time this season.

Hicks homered twice, including a go-ahead, two-run drive in the seventh inning , and Severino won as a starter for the first time since September 2015 in a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night that completed a three-game sweep.

Would much rather have Hicks than Rosario in LF. Can't say I'd rather have Hicks than Buxton out in CF, but he would definitely be a nice option when Buxton is struggling. Check with me in a year or two...if Buxton still isn't hitting, I'd rather have Hicks. Hicks got such a raw deal here....thanks to Gardy, of course.

Yup. That lifetime .653 OPS screams success.
