I'll get this thread started with a very underrated one.

December 6, 2012: Trevor May traded by the Philadelphia Phillies with Vance Worley to the Minnesota Twins for Ben Revere.

Its fun to think back on our "Ben Revere moment" at our last TF get-together
I will never forget watching that warm-up session up close

Meadows threw an absolute floater home last night in the Rays game … my mind went right to Revere's throws .
Catcher waited, and waited and waited and it just never came

1987 Minnesota Twins
The Trade: Minnesota Twins trade a player to be named later (P Bryan Hickerson), P Jose Dominguez (minors) and P Ray Velasquez (minors) to the San Francisco Giants for P Dave Blakley (minors) and OF Dan Gladden.
The Twins pulled in some good and great players using trades in 1987, adding All-Star closer Jeff Reardon, former MVP Don Baylor, Hall of Famer Steve Carlton, and Al Newman. The best part of all these deals? The Twins gave up almost nothing, and they still got a title out of it.
That being said, the best deal they made was to acquire playoff legend, speedster, and fan favorite Dan Gladden. The Twins gave up two prospects (Dominguez and Velasquez) who didn’t make the majors and a pitcher who didn’t do much (former Gopher and Minnesota-native) Hickerson.
The Twins on the other hand received a key piece of their two title runs and one of the five best left fielders in franchise history. Pretty good trade.
Result: +4.7 WAR after the trade, added a title team centerpiece.

and the rest, is history …. (mic drop)

Jeff Reardon and catcher Tom Nieto to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for minor league pitcher Alfredo Cardwood, catcher Jeff Reed, and pitchers Neal Heaton and Yorkis Perez

Steve Carlton Traded by Cleveland Indians to Minnesota Twins in exchange for a player to be named later (July 31, 1987); Cleveland Indians received Jeff Perry (August 18, 1987).

Al Newman Traded by Montreal Expos to Minnesota Twins in exchange for Mike Shade (February 20, 1987).

Good one. It's never brought up. I don't think I've ever thought about getting Gladden as a trade. Not sure why, but my mind told me he was signed off the open market after a falling out with the Giants. That's the first time I've seen the names of players involved in the trade. Bryan Hickerson is the only name I'm familiar with, and I never even knew he was Twins property. Wow, just looked him up...Hickerson is from Bemidji. Cool. I had no idea. Wonder where he lives now?

Fairly recent article on Hickerson. He is (was?) the Indians pitching coach at AAA Indianapolis. Doesn't look like he's there anymore.

Milton was in Philly one year, going 14-6 in 34 starts, then on to the Reds to finish his career.

Looks like Hickerson is now a Single-A pitching coach for the Pirates (West Virginia Black Bears).

I thought Bobby Keiltly for Shannon Stewart worked out pretty well.

There's the AJ trade that kept on giving

And it's probably the most referred to Twins trade of the past 30 years

Traded by Minnesota Twins with cash to San Francisco Giants in exchange for Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano and Boof Bonser (November 14, 2003).

Since this was technically a trade, I guess it has to be the lock #1:

Johan Santana traded by the Florida Marlins with cash to the Minnesota Twins for Jared Camp.

We got cash too.

Those 2 trades probably are why so few teams really wanted to deal much of anything of value with Ryan as years went on.
