I'd be happy with an outfield of Rosario, Buxton, and Hicks.
I'd also bat Hicks 8th.

This is part of the Hicks enigma. He was made to be a lead-off batter by our previous moron manager. When he struggled, he kept him there. Nuff' said.

This too. That's our ideal team IMO, with those guys working out.

I don't even recall ever labeling him a "superstar". But I do know I said he has star "potential". Heck, I still believe that, even though the odds are more with him becoming a very solid regular. The point has always been to take a valuable asset, develop him properly, and put him in the best situation to succeed. That remains the case.

Yes, you did Dustin. You had him playing in the 2014 All Star game and being the next Kirby Puckett of the Twins. Please don't deny this. You know it to be true.

Hicks is going to get another chance. He has the tools and so far this year he is producing. Molitor will have to determine when the right time is for the Twins.

Lastly, Phil, can you please stop using BA as a barometer of anything? It's ridiculous. This isn't the 80's.

What was Hicks BA the last 2 years? When it is below the mendoza line (it is very relevant)....lol Everyone was looking at his BA...You don't think Hicks didn't know his own Batting Average?

Do you think High School or College kids playing baseball look at OPS or BA? My bet is on Batting Average, Runs, Home Runs, RBIs, and Stolen Bases before OPS. The same as ERA and Saves over Sierra.

OPS, WOBA, and Sierra were developed in the 90's? Try the 2000's....lol

I was looking at my favorite High School team......all the old school stats are still there....

If I watch the Baseball Highlights on ESPN or MLB how many times will they mention OPS and how many times will they mention HR, BA, RBIs?????? lol

Umm, do you really want to look at "what the players look at" (and they look at OPS anyway now) or do you want to look at what actually matters. BA is completely antiquated vs. OPS and you are using it where you can try to make it suit your weak argument.

This qualifies as the most preposterous statement award EVER on this forum. "BA is antiquated?" Seriously Dustin? That is like saying a balance sheet is a worthless financial statement or a signed contract isn't worth the paper it was drafted upon.

Sheesh!

Contrary to what you believe Dustin, BA is not antiquated. The fact that other stats have been introduced over the years does not mean that others have gone the way of the passenger pigeon. You better believe players and their agents will present BA when negotiating contracts. God knows everyone made a big deal about BA when Joe was winning batting titles.

OPS tells you a lot more with no more effort.

WAR even better.

And that's just scratching the surface. JAWS (invented by Ron Jaworski) and PECOTA (invented by Bill Pecota) go even further.

Matt kissing up to Dustin again.

Give me a guy with a .290 batting average over a guy with a .240 batting average if they have an equal amount of power potential and speed but the exact same OPS. The guy with the .290 batting average is probably driving in more runs--and that matters.

X 10!

No, not at all. Dustin and I put together an interesting Mauer SLG bet today. I have under .440 for the season; he has.440 or higher. I think he'll be right in that range. Should be epic.

Our Arcia/Santana bet was pretty damn solid last season, Matt. Very close.

No, but I just got rid of a computer at home with Windows 95 as the operating software. Does that count?

Don't get me wrong on Aaron Hicks. I hope he continues to improve and ends up playing OF for the Twins as a regular or at least a legitimate 4th OF. But truth be told, the guy sucked when playing for the Twins in 2013 and 2014. He was equally as bad at the plate during 2015 Spring training coupled with brain farts in both the OF and running the bases. His time will come again soon. He will get one more chance. I would rather he show 10-12 weeks of solid AAA minor league ball and come back some time right after the All Star break.

I posted some thoughts on Hicks by Paul Molitor. No one has actually responded. I only sse attempts to change the topic.

How about responding to the bolded quotes I posted by Molitor?

What's to respond to? Those quotes don't dispute any of our points.

Molitor's points are iron clad. This is why you have no response.
It's OK though. Relax

All the money Dustin pays out for lost bets to posters should be donated to the Make A Wish foundation. I know the 100 dollars I collect from him will go to that

2-4/10th double/rbi in RW win

Danny ortiz with 3 more rbi, 23 on the year. 4th/corner OF guy that could help off the bench in a bit.

Some great OF options, that have started with Rosario
Silly to not use them on the big club soon.
Please don't tell me the RobinsonShittfer combo is holding anyone up. Please.

You're 0-0 against me so if this one goes my way you can't say "I've won more than I lost" to me.

I have no idea how many side bets you have going right now. I know you have at least a few. Why you do this I have no idea.
It's cool though. Whatever
