I aslo would not be surprised one bit if Hicks is hitting .190 a month from now.

Not that Batting Average matters.

I'd settle for David Gray opening for Prince

We will probably have to settle for a good Price on Grey Goose.

If I was a cruel SOB I'd pick up Hicks in Fantasy Baseball.

Guranteed slump

I still remember my wife coming back into the house one morning about four feet off the ground ...
"wake up that 18 year old son of yours (he was always only MY son during times like this) ... and tell him I found this bottle of grey goose in the trunk of his car, and tell him he's grounded."

So ... I trudged to the basement, woke him, told him he was grounded, and complimented him on his choice of vodka.
Damn, so close to father-of-the-year I was.
Missed it by thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat much.

What do you mean? That sounds like perfect parenting to me.

I'm a wine guy, a beer guy, love a good variety. But grey goose dirty martinis (shaken, not stirred) are usually my go-to drink.

Actually I think what he did in September.......260 - .280. I just hope his OPS is high enough to satisfy the majority since everyone looks at that instead of Batting Average....jib jab lol

Thank God he is up as I didn't want Dustin's health to suffer any more.

Hicks time.
Molitor adds another weapon.

Well, I guess some of you will see sooner than later the fate of Mr. Hicks. This will be his swan song. Last chance saloon.

Exactly. So true. Hopefully everyone lays off on the pressure. Would be great for this organization and all of us as fans if he does well. He CAN be a big piece.

Too funny that this happened today after all this debate. Good for him. Hopefully one of Schafer/Robinson is now cut/sent down. If not both. No need. All they're doing on the roster at this point is taking valuable ab's away from Hicks or Rosario. Or even (soon) Arcia.

Now this forum will return to its typical half page to full page per day of posts. The Hicks controversy is over.

That is pretty much what I was thinking. Is .290 BA better than .190?

Our Arcia/Santana bet was pretty damn solid last season, Matt. Very close.

Do I still owe you on that?

I must, because I haven't seen you since the end of last season.

I thought about this again this morning. We might be even now because of the Mauer OPS bet from a few years ago. But I really don't remember anymore.

SMF or Skillz, can one of you guys change your profile picture? Way too similar. I started to think SMF was turning into a Sabermetric junkie the other day.

I think Skillz needs a headshot of Hicks as his avatar.

I think Dustin needs a naked-man picture of Hicks as his avatar.

I'm pretty sure I paid up on that. But it really doesn't matter. Drinks all around at Target soon.

Mark, I don't have a "Brendan Harris in the shower" fixation on him. I just thought he deserved to be called up.

BA matters. But not nearly as much as other things. If a guy has a 50 point edge in BA but the other guy has a 150 point edge in OPS, the guy with the higher OPS is absolutely a better hitter.

You guys accuse me of being some blind Mauer lover. Well, Mauer's career BA would point to him being the best hitter of the last 10 years. He's close, but he's not, as measured by OPS.

I'm not a hipster and I despise PBR. I do like microbrews a ton, but that's not hipster; that's just common sense.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I think you did. Hopefully I owe you 2 beers by the end of the season. Maybe I'll even concede on the new Mauer bet by August.

You're protesting a little too strong there. I have a feeling if we open your fridge, we find a shelf full of PBR.
