Well, he is certainly positioning himself to be called up after Uncle Albers gets his shot.

Tall Lefty, was taken off the 40-man last year with inconsistency. Apparently getting some of his act together.

Albers should NEVER pitch with the big club again. But he will. It's the Twins' way.

It's as inevitable as death and taxes. We Are Sorry Uncle Albers taking the hill for the Twins in 2016.

just 20 innings pitched so far this season. 94 total last year. He's 26 year's old now. His high IP is 130. He is just not going to do it, relief or start ever, without either breaking down or poor performance. He's toast. Move on.

0nly minor hope is he can be someday be a 2 appearance a week reliever. 1 inning each. Baby him thru a season if you're fortunate and patient.

There's a chance Alex Meyer will return to the Rochester Red Wings starting rotation sometime this week during their seven-game road trip in North Carolina.

Meyer was given time off after "he felt some fatigue in the shoulder," Brad Steil, farm director for the Minnesota Twins, said during his visit to Rochester last week.

He is expected to throw on the side in the next day or two, and how he feels will likely determine whether he starts toward the weekend.

The hard-throwing right-hander hasn't pitched since May 3 with the Minnesota Twins, when he allowed three hits, three walks and three runs in 2 2/3 innings against the Houston Astros. That start came four days after a one-inning relief appearance against the Detroit Tigers (five hits, one walk, two runs).

Meyer was returned to the Red Wings on May 4.

The Twins certainly did him no favors. He started for the Wings on April 20, then joined the Twins five days later and did a lot of nothing until the April 29 relief appearance.

Meyer had been terrific for the Red Wings before his April 25 recall. In three International League appearances, he was 1-1 with a 1.04 ERA. He allowed 11 hits, struck out 19 and had a 0.87 WHIP.

His was another example of horrific GM work this year. No way do yo ucall up a pitcher on a roll and not use them that long. Idiotic.

They were already horrible. Could have made a different move at that point and kept Meyer in AAA to gain more confidence.

I blame Molitor 100% on that - unless for some reason he was told not to use him.

K rate still remains high for Buxton. Until he can gain control of the strike zone, he should stay at Rochester.
