That's not cooperating and it makes it appear he was trying to hide something.

I don't agree with the suspension but That's what it really comes down to. The science of ball deflation etc has nothing to do with it.

Deflategate wont go away because Brady brought it to federal court. The NFL appealed the original verdict. And Brady has to understand as does everyone that they are operating a NEGOTIATED CBA that gives the Commish power to suspend.

It has never been proven that the balls were deflated by anything other than natural processes - in other words, it was never established that rules were broken at all. The commissioner does have wide latitude to act as he sees fit due to the CBA, it is true. But that does not mean that his actions are just, right, or in the best interest of the NFL.

Honestly, this highlights one of my least favorite parts of the US justice system: the fact that appeals ASSUME that the trial got the facts right, which is objectively untrue in this case.

There was evidence, testimony, that Brady had contacted the ball handlers via text regarding inflation of the balls. That is what the NFL wanted the phone for and Brady conveniently destroyed it before they could get it. Whether there was a single incriminating thing on the phone or not, he acted in a fashion that makes it look like he was trying to hide something. Goodell can act, per the CBA as he did. That is what the Appelate court ruled.

I still don't think a suspension is warranted, but now that it's gone this far. Patriots are going to have to figure out how to play their first four games without their leader on the field.

Once, weeks earlier, after a ball had been overinflated. This is too easily explained to constitute evidence.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Goodell acted in accordance with the facts of the case.

Once again, it has never been proven that the balls were even deflated to abnormal levels, let alone that Brady participated in a scheme to do so. It seems to me that in order to convict someone of a crime, you should have to be able to definitively prove that a crime was committed. And the science is crystal clear: in wet, cold conditions like that game was played in, you should EXPECT there to be the level of deflation that we saw. Never mind the fact that the investigation was incredibly sloppy, with little regard for scientific procedure or knowledge of how the science works, and was contracted to and performed by an organization known for coming up with whatever results the person paying wants.

Absolute affront to justice and science.

My comment was in response to Todd talking about him not wanting Goodell to see nude pictures of his girl.

With a different celebrity getting their phone "hacked" every week, if you're going to play with THAT particular fire, you deserve to get burned.

I don't even like the Pats or Brady but this crap should have never gotten to this level

Ridiculous and yet another reason why Goodell needs to go and NO commish should have that much power again

Status: offline 		Fair enough, though I would say that I'm bringing the conversation back to the point I was making in the first place. It's pretty clear that Todd was using the nude pics as an example of a class of things that one might not want Goodell to have access to.

Also, the notion that if one doesn't want someone to get access to the stuff on your phone, one shouldn't have that stuff on ones phone is an awful lot the idea that if you don't want stuff stolen from your house, you shouldn't keep stuff in your house. It should be pretty clear why that is problematic.

Status: offline 		Dude, you and I have been lockstep on this from the beginning. Absolute affront to science and justice. They broke no rules, there is no evidence of it. I wouldn't trust Goodell with my grocery list either, and Brady was proven correct in doing what he did when so many of his emails WERE leaked. Makes perfect sense. If I were any kind of celebrity I'd always destroy my old phone to be sure.
