They righted the ship after another bad start. I think coming off the bench benefitted Conley.

I still don't like Randle. Even on nights when he puts up big numbers, the offense seems constipated when he's on the floor. He gets completely lost in team defense.

AGREE!!!!

With all of it?

Conley appears to be more effective coming off the bench and I don't like Randle.

I swear he just feeds off of adversity. Acts like a child agin. Gets fined again. “Oh no the whole world is against me. I’ll show them”. Has a monster game.

Wolves with a 12 point 1st quarter at home, vs. an undermanned Warriors team.

That ugly trade has continued to kill the Wolves and really even their ability to make the playoffs.

After watching the Wolves speak out a 1 point win against Kyrie Irving and some spare parts, I have to say that this is a disjointed basketball team that can't get out of its own way.

I also have to say that I hate Julius Randle more every time I watch him play. Every time a team goes on a run to cut into a Wolves lead, you can bet Randle is in the middle of it. Dumb decisions, dumb shots, dumb fouls.

Less will be more....just like the NAW/Conley trade.

Dilly dilly putting on a show vs Denver. He is oozing with talent. The only thing that will hold him back is matchup problems on D due to his slight frame. That may always limit his minutes somewhat, but if used judiciously he could be a very good player for a long time.

I’m not convinced he’ll always be bad on defense.

The kid works his ass off in defense. He gets overwhelmed at times and his technique needs a ton of work (he looks like he has no coaching on that end), but he moves his feet really well and he’s very good at staying between his man and the basket.

I was super impressed with his effort vs Cleveland - even if the results were spotty.

He needs to put on a good 15 lbs and really learn technique and positioning. If he does that, he could be, at worst, a net neutral on that end.

Good post. The things he lacks can be taught or grown into. The things he has cannot be taught.

Wow I was hoping they’d be competitive today. Did not expect a 29 point blowout.

This team is better than last year. There, I said it. 😄

I don't know where this team has been hiding all year. Even Julius Randle didn't totally suck today.

Wolves are coming off an impressive rout of a good Denver team. They now face a mediocre Atlanta team missing their top two scorers and on a 4 game losing streak.

I predict Atlanta 110 Wolves 105

Well the Wolves tried to make my prediction come true. An ugly game, but but Atlanta was just too bad for them.

If there’s such a thing as a moral victory was this a moral loss?

my bit-bit: Not a fan of Randle and think we lost the trade. nonetheless, he appears to be staying more focused over the course of the games, presumably to maximize his next contract.

the ball wasn’t dropping last night and we still comfortably controlled v atlanta. promising sign of things to come

I think he's trying at times, but its not making him play any better - other than not pounding the ball so much.

In the Denver win, he scored 21 points on 20 FGA. And he was guarded by Jamal Murray and Westbrook all game - and he couldn't take advantage of them. And then Denver just started ignoring him outside the arc and played 5 on 4 inside.

Yesterday he scored 20 on 17 FGAs and manages a 5 TO vs 2 Assist game.

And teams are absolutely hunting him on defense. I think JJJ scored 14 straight points in the 4th quarter attacking Randle. Cleveland and Dallas did the same.

The only thing that was noticeably better from Randle in the Denver game is that he wasn't constantly trying to back people down 30 feet. I only recall him doing it twice and I think he turned it over both times. I've said before that when a double digit Wolves lead gets cut to 3, Randle's finger prints are usually all over it.

The Timberwolves played 10:06 with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Jaylen Clark, Anthony Edwards and Jaden McDaniels on the floor (L5 min of 2Q and 3Q). They outscored the Suns 24-15 in those minutes, and recorded a DRTG of 68.2. 126.3 ORTG makes it a +58.1 NET. Scored 9 of the Wolves' 18 fast break points, all of them off turnovers.
