Status: online 		Ugh! Larson and Potulny are the favorites for the job. Are they really the best Coyle can do? This is supposed to be one of the elite jobs in college hockey.

Article from Russo had a quote from Faber......Bob had one year left but has been pondering retirement for the last couple. He had one year left on his contract.

Gophers AD Mark Coyle interviewed 2 college coaches this weekend, including St. Cloud State’s Brett Larson, and Hartford Wolf Pack coach Grant Potulny. So one mystery college coach. Hearing there may be one other candidate interviewed, too. Usually Coyle acts fast and there’s tons to do (portal opens after Frozen Four, determining which players he’ll keep, which are leaving), so I bet he has a men’s hockey coach decision soon. Coyle is speaking for the first time since the coaching changes later today to introduce Greg May as the women’s coach.

Rumor mill hearing that when and if Brett Larson is named HC at the U of M, he will tab former Gopher Cory Laylin and Matt Cullen as two of his assistant coaches.

Laylin is an assistant at UST
Cullen's resume as a hockey mind, builder of talent and winner is unmatched

Don’t know what to think. Many think St. Cloud is now behind Mankato UMD and St Thomas now for giving resources to coaches facilities and players---maybe even BSU.

Dear Gopher hockey fans,

I know many of you are upset about the hire of Brett Larson. While I'm not the greatest hockey mind, I am an SCSU graduate.

But when I was there from 2007-2010, there were 18,000+ kids on campus at one of the great midwest party institutions available to mankind.

By 2025... there were 9,600 enrolled on a campus that's spiraled into complete shithole status, which is why nobody wants to go there anymore.

I know his recent history doesn't look great, but whatever Larson did the past few years at SCSU cannot be held against him.
