The Taurasi shot didn't end it. Not even close. If a 5 point deficit after 3 is enough to break us, we didn't deserve to be there.

Phoenix turned it up and we couldn't match. We were playing catch-up and letting them dictate everything the whole series.

Unfortunately 4/5 of our starting line-up looks like age is starting to catch up to them. We're absolutely going to need massive improvement from our younger players.

I don't think the team is done. But we're not going to be the favorite to come out of the West again - unless some pretty big things happen.

I'll go back to my opinion a week ago.
The players themselves begged the fans to show up Sunday, because they'd need the support to keep their season going.
THEY knew which team was better. They knew they'd be down coming back home.
Very disappointing.

It was a weird year. The injuries piled up (but with an older team, that's going to happen), but even so, it still seems like we had to fight tooth and nail to win a lot of games against some pretty bad teams.

Your kidding yourself if you don't see the shift in power. Griner this year was a whole different player than the rookie version of Griner, which is to say scary good even without the help of YMCA pick up game caliber refereeing. The Lynx have the older roster and are going to need some of the young inside players to step up or make a personnel adjustment in order to take the top spot back from Phoenix. You're in denial if you think standing pat is going to get us back ahead of Phoenix.

And if Griner develops a stronger base, she's going to absolutely dominate the league.

As much as she improved from year 1 to year 2, I think she has a bigger jump still coming.

The one thing we have going for us is Taurasi is 32 and Taylor is 33.

But Diana just doesn't seem to be slowing down. She was a worthy MVP candidate this year. And other than the year they tanked for Griner, she doesn't get hurt.

The other 800 lb gorilla in the room is that other than the second half of game 2, Maya Moore was a non-factor. An MVP simply cannot allow that to happen.

Yeah. As much as I hate the "P-word", that felt like a Pride Game...The 3 stars refusing to go out that way.

Whalen was far and away our best player in the postseason.

I wonder if some of that is how many minutes she was forced to play this year. She had a lot of 40+ minute games, and because we weren't blowing teams out, not that many short minute ones.

Also, as great as Maya is - and she's arguably the best women's player today, she really needs to develop more of a scoring game when her shot isn't falling. I think she will. Her handle is noticeably improved, but she needs to keep figuring out how to be more of a scorer when being a shooter isn't working.

The Lynx were exposed as a flash in the pan when they were dethroned in the final game of their series. A night where Augustus looked - at best - mortal and a weak showing from the bench left the Lynx pining the end of their season - a bitter pill.

So ended 2012 v. Indiana.

The matchup of Lynx v. Mercury was perceived as the finals showdown of the 2014 season. The Lynx ended up on the short end - I would say it had a lot to do with having lost home court advantage as a result of injuries that forced some players to log too many minutes earlier in the season and prevented the players from having time to gel. Clearly the players are getting older, but I don't think this team is falling off the cliff.

Thanks David. This just like giving up by our supposed fans is troublesome to me. Yes realistically now Phoenix is the best team in the league. However, We are a freaking great team also and to act like there is now no hope to beat them I don't know what to say. People way overrate the most recent thing to happen. If we had our team all year we would have had home court and we would have been going after our third title in four years right now.

Sorry but it sounded to me like we can't beat Phoenix they are just too good for us. I know you are a real fan but it just seemed pretty defeatist to me. If we can't beat them with what we got how can we re-tune? What assets do we have to change the team? I think we pretty much have to beat them with what we got.

If we can't beat them with what we got what can we possibly do to fix it? If McCarville is too old to handle Griner and nobody can really handle her then Dantas/Peters need to step up. Phoenix like us has some older very important players. They could slow down just like ours could. Griner and Moore are the players that will be the keys moving forward.

Even with Griner being this whole new player we beat them the last two times at home and in the final regular season game it came down to a last second shot. I think we can beat them with what we got.
