The opening line I found was 2, so it has moved a little, if it's at Dallas - 1 1/2.

I heard the opening line was -3 but I don't bet on NFL games.

Pretty sure it was -2.5 on FanDual - they vary. I'm not an expert but 1 point would suggest movement to me.

- I've always liked RGlll <cough cough>
- Actually the only time ive ever -need to be careful here- really didn't care if the Vikes lost was when we lost the ability to move up in the draft and pick him with an improbably win. I know on some level that makes me a hypocrite

The Vikings are REAL. People don’t believe in them because they don’t trust Kirk Cousins despite his 5 GAME WINNING DRIVES THIS YEAR. Fine. Trust Justin Jefferson, Trust Dalvin Cook. Trust Za’Darius Smith. Trust Patrick Peterson. They are 8-1 and having fun. That’s DANGEROUS.

Bill Johanesen -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/17/2022 9:21:47 AM)

At 8-1 the board is calm. I don't have anything to bitch at. Well, maybe Ingram. Thought he would have been better. Balanced out by the Hock trade. Not convinced the D is anything special and it's going to need an overhaul, but it is what it is. Hoping the savvy vets can play over their heads before wearing out.

Great fortune to host Dal and NYG. Not looking forward to @GB and @Chi in January. While the past has no bearing on this year, have seen that script too many times.

IMO not a hypocrite. Never like the meaningless win(s) at the end of the year when the alternative would have been to play the backups to see how they do plus help lock in a higher draft position.

I always laugh at how they say it is all about the QB.....I watched Dan Marino, Fouts, and even the immortal Brady struggle when they don't have the pieces in place which is a very talented coaching staff, a decent defense, and a GM that can make just the right amount of tweaks.

I still say last year our coach cost us at least 2 wins in game management and who knows how many more with his decision making on which players to bring in last year as FA (Breeland, Alexander, and keeping Barr & Dozier) put shade on how great Kirk & JJ were last season.

Kirk wasn't great last year ... or the 9 years before.

He's putting together a great year this year if he keeps showing up in big moments.

For the first time, I believe he's capable of being in the top tier QB conversation ... regardless if his stats put him in the 10-20 range of pundit QB rankings.

He just needs to keep at it, its a long season.

An 11-6 or 10-7 and playoffs last year would have done the same.

Yes he was better last year.....our ST/Defense/Coaching has been the difference this year. He has actually thrown more INTs this year.

KOC is getting him to take more risks instead of being Check Down Charlie. KC doesn't throw the ball to JJ last year on 4th and 18. He checks down to TE for 10yd gain and game is over.

Taking risks hurts your stats but can also make you a winner if you pull it off often enough.

I don't disagree with him taking more risks this year but Kirk was on fire the first 10 games last year. The Defense and ST led to many losses last year in those first 10 games. Check the game logs.

19 TD 2 Int at this time last year.

Plus you add a Cook fumble against Cincy and Joseph missed kick against Arizona to the equation.

Phil Riewer -> RE: General Vikes Talk (11/17/2022 4:07:10 PM)

Week 1 @ Cincy Kirk was leading us to game winning drive Cook fumbles L
Week 2 Arizona Kirk leading us to game winning FG Joseph Misses L
Week 3 Seattle W
Week 4 Cleveland Stinker for Kirk L
Week 5 Kirk Leads us to Win against Detroit W
Week 6 OT Kirk to KJ game W
Week 8 Dallas L
Week 9 Balt Big Lead lose in OT L
Week 10 LA Charger W Kirk good again
Week 11 GB W at US Bank

5-5 after 10 games last year.

Some just hate Kirk so much last year due to Vax....He was great the first 10 games; we should have been 7-3 or 8-2.

The turn around happened last year. The Non Vax did make certain posters post negatively towards him which wasn't football related. Amazing him being a christian isn't as big of deal either.

Even though Thielen has slowed down a bit the improvement from Smith/Conklin to TJ and oline has made us an even better offense (of course no one wants to mention Oline performance last year either).

Look at the first 10 games last year versus this year with no defense, a worse oline (Darrisaw missed the first few games), worse ST, and worse coaching....

Its not so black and white.

I think most posters just wanted to get more from KC than a live arm. That simply is not enough. Jeff George, Cutler … that list goes on. Then you throw in his price / cap weight versus his contribution to winning … glad to see him affecting wins more that before.

IMO his lack of leadership / self-contained go-about-my-business worker-bee mentality - has been part of the issue. That doesnt fly at QB. Glad to see him opening up.

Fans are fickle. Their teams are more important than individual players … which is why Peterson Diggs etc started out so popular, then soured.

Hopefully, Cousins has turned a corner and is not just being carried along by momentum.
