Because losing cap space and having no option at QB will get us there. And also piss off JJ.

I would rather go all in for a QBOTF via trading Jefferson for a super high pick if the front office thinks their QBOTF is there and do a real rebuild. Cutting or trading away Cousins for a retread piece of trash like Zach Wilson, Mayfield, ect feels like an epic waste of time. Jefferson isn't going to want to stick around for a massive rebuild anyway. For example, I would think the Bears would be very interested in Jefferson as the center piece of a trade that gets the Vikings the #1 overall pick. Kwesi is going to thrive or be fired based on his "life after Kirk" move, if I was him I would make it the best possible move.

kendricks sucks move on kirk, if you can get him to agree, find a trade...it aint gonna happen, so move on...he is here one last year...DO NOT EXTEND HIM (unless team friendly) we have tied ourselves to kirk last year and this year, so suck it up i would add offense this year....C, OL, WR, QB with our draft picks...have a good oline with weapons for a young QB can do wonders throw some hungry young no-names on defense, and hope for the best.....at worst we drop one spot from 31st to 32nd i am in future building mode with he understanding that Kirk is here this year....maybe trade deadline deal if we have a slow start?

First of all, we are starting 2023 with a cap deficit, so the $30 million ends up being around $20 million. Then you have the rookie class, and w/o a second rounder might be around $5 million. Like magic, your $30 million is automatically reduced to $15 million. Spotrac lets you do the cuts. Cutting all the over the hill guys gets us to about 50M. But we still have to sign 10 or so guys to get to 53.

Winning 13 games with the #31 defense in the league is not going to repeat itself. Most teams with the #31 defense finish well below .500. It was a miracle year, plain and simple. If they finish with the #31 defense next season, they will not win more than seven games. PERIOD! More than likely it would be in the 5-6 range. That was bad of a defense as I have ever seen.

IF you can get #1, for JJ and this and next year first round, I would do that deal every day....i doubt the bears do i think that would assign JJ the value of #5 pick in the draft (maybe not as outlandish as I first thought)

The regime will be thinking strategically with the cap. JJ will be a fortune. O'Neill's contract is going to kick in. After they sort out more mess next season, Darrisaw will enter his 4th year. He is trending towards a mammoth contract especially as he plays at a premium position. The QBOTF will almost have to be via the draft. If they dump massive amounts of cap into void years, I'd say that's an early indicator the Wilfs are preparing to sell the team.

We haven't done it since Ponder. i would prefer to keep JJ too, but I am looking for a 15 year quarterback more than a 7 year WR

Shanahan seems to make every QB he works with look pretty damn good, I think that is a very big part of it. Plus the talent and defense they have is a big part of it also. If Kwesi wants to tie his career to a mid round pick, that's his choice.

You can find one in 3-5; hell draft two this year. If you look at the roster; trading for TJ mid year your plan isn't the logic they are following. Shanahan seems to make every QB he works with look pretty damn good, I think that is a very big part of it. Plus the talent and defense they have is a big part of it also. If Kwesi wants to tie his career to a mid round pick, that's his choice. First round QBs get Coaches and GM's fired.....Cardinals Rosen and Murray are examples.
