Here we go again... the never ending Darnold cycle is back for a 187th appearance.

Death by 1,000 cuts. As I said two weeks ago, there is a very easy way to make this conversation go away.

Brad H, you were right!

Wow, insecurity personified.

Anybody seen the QB Passer Ratings for the year?

https://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr/_/sort/qbr/dir/desc

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/current-nfl-qb-rating-leaders

The only ratings that matter are in the last two minutes.

14-3

That's what we gave up on.

It's called greed, people. It's a nasty thing.

Correction; we gave up on an 0 - 2 playoff QB with a 77.6 playoff passer rating.

Carson Wentz has a shoulder injury. JJ McCarthy has a mysterious ankle injury that he played through when it happened. Which injury would seem to be worse for a guy that makes a living throwing the ball?

After about 16 months with the organization, I'd think the "Quarterback Whisperer" would have him ready to go by now.

The ankle. It affects everything. How you plant. How you drive into the throw. How you follow through. Wentz's injury is on his non throwing side.

He seemed to be running just fine the last time he ran off the field. Why? Because he isn't hurt.

I played basketball on a badly sprained ankle. Limits are cutting and jumping......running straight line isn't a problem. Totally disagree with what you are saying. You can tape it up and play but there are limits.

Let's just add to that a QB that wanted a significant pay raise and got it in Seattle.

As it turns out the QB we would have rather retained if we were going to retain one was Daniel Jones, who is lighting it up in Indy. McCarthy is going through the typical growing pains of a guy that hadn't played a snap in a real NFL game until a little over a month ago.

The jury is still out except for the one guy that already declared him "guilty" before seeing any real pieces of evidence.

Both Vikings tight end, have just 2 receiving touchdowns, combined, through 5 games.. the eagles have one tight end with 5..

Hockenson is a waste of space…and cap money.

Don't take this the wrong way because I am in very much agreement that Hock has been a huge waste of resources overall. That said, in his defense. He's been used to chip and straight out block way too much because of the injuries on the OLine. If we go in to next year, regardless of anything else, with his same salary on the books we are idiots.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/10/2025 10:16:35 AM)

You guys can grind your teeth to nubs over the Darnold thing all year long. It'll play out in the end. If he makes a deep playoff run we'll have egg on our face. If he flames out Seattle will realize they made a mistake. It does make things interesting that Jones said on Jeff Saturday's podcast yesterday that his turnaround was because of his time in MN. He admitted that the communication in the QB room and just how prepared they were everyday turned it around for him.

Its such a long con that they even taped up a perfectly healthy ankle during the game? Just to set the scene for the next week?

Adrenaline is a real thing. Its not uncommon for players to finish games on pretty bad injuries that don't show their extent until afterwards.

I rolled my ankle playing touch football once. I kept playing. A little swollen that day. The next day it swelled up like balloon.

Daniel Lee Young -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/10/2025 11:52:48 AM)

The hardest thing Brad has ever done, physically , for the past 30 years, is Pat himself on the back for being wrong.. all the.. time..

We should review all of his “ can’t miss, pro ready” QB draft tribute splash posts over the years..

The list of can’t miss fails is epic..

But he never mentions his crush, after it flames out like a football Hindenburg..

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talk (10/10/2025 1:34:49 PM)

This Darnold shit again? Broken record. Again.

Come up with something new and that isn't living in the past.

Should we revisit Hershel Walker? Jeff George? Trading Moss?

SMH....

Everyone agrees he should play and start if healthy.

Everyone agrees the OL and playcalling have been putrid.

Everyone agrees that 2-4 over the last 6 games sucks, with 3 different QB.

Everyone agrees that KOC and KAM have put us in this position.

Everyone agrees that Darnold (like KFC, Dobbs, Keenum, JGeorge, Bradford, etc.) is not on this roster any more.

Everyone agrees that JJM has played two NFL starts.

Everyone SHOULD agree that two starts is not enough to evaluate a QBs career or prospects long-term, especially in light of the above.

So perhaps we can move on to a new topic or rational discussion about our offensive woes without talking about dudes that aren't here or bizarre Oliver Stone theories.

But that's just me. Rehashing this tired shit over and over doesn't do anything for me and doesn't have anything to do with today or tomorrow.

Needs repeating.

Same shit, different day/month/year/season. Yawn.

Peace out, Vikes fans!

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/10/2025 11:44:37 PM)

The Vikings only have 2 losses, so they could still win more regular season games than last year, and could still go further in the playoffs.

I really can't see Darnold or Danny Dimes making it to the Super Bowl. I have a hard time seeing Wentz leading the Vikings to the Super Bowl, but you never know.

McCarthy still gives me the feeling he could lead the Vikings to a Super Bowl win, I don't feel that way with the other 3 I mentioned.

Brosmer is a Kyle Sloter preseason hero, until proven otherwise. He does have a quick release, and seems to make good decisions, he could end up being the starter down the road, who knows.

Where is our healthy, young quarterback with the mysterious ankle injury?

On the bye. I would assume doing rehab at TCO everyday...why do you ask?

I'm telling you, he ain't hurt.

I don't know that I trust your medical prowess.

Weren't you the injury guru that was adamant the Vikes shouldn't resign Jefferson because of his "chronic soft tissue injuries"?
You wanted to pass on a 24 year old wr who just happens to constantly rewrite the record books because you were worried he was washed up? In his mid 20s...

JJ may or may not turn into something.
JJ may or may not ever reach Darnold level success.

Doesn't mean he isn't injured.
