Sources: #Vikings K Will Reichard’s agents and the team’s front office requested that the NFL remove his missed FG from last week’s London game after it clearly struck a camera cable, causing the ball to take an unnatural turn to the right.

The NFL acknowledged it was a missed call but ruled they will not make the statistical adjustment.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/12/2025 1:36:43 PM)

I watched that Denver/Jets game this AM in London. Wow, if KOC ever decides to make Fields one of his projects, I may have to skip that chapter in Viking history. That dude is God awful.

True, Really sucks. He may very well make Aaron Glenn a one year wonder at HC. Just awful.

Fields lulled everybody into a false sense of talent for the draft, then the Steelers fell for it pretty quickly. Now the Jets. He can run fast is elusive yadda yadda yadda, he's the next Lamar Jackson!! Except being a QB in the NFL requires a top notch football IQ and Fields has already demonstrated that his is pretty low.

Everyone agrees he should play and start if healthy.

Everyone agrees the OL and playcalling have been putrid.

Everyone agrees that 2-4 over the last 6 games sucks, with 3 different QB.

Everyone agrees that KOC and KAM have put us in this position.

Everyone agrees that Darnold (like KFC, Dobbs, Keenum, JGeorge, Bradford, etc.) is not on this roster any more.

Everyone agrees that JJM has played two NFL starts.

Everyone SHOULD agree that two starts is not enough to evaluate a QBs career or prospects long-term, especially in light of the above.

So perhaps we can move on to a new topic or rational discussion about our offensive woes without talking about dudes that aren't here or bizarre Oliver Stone theories.

But that's just me. Rehashing this tired shit over and over doesn't do anything for me and doesn't have anything to do with today or tomorrow.

Needs repeating.

It would theoretically go away if everyone kowtowed to Brad and said you were right:

Death by 1,000 cuts. As I said two weeks ago, there is a very easy way to make this conversation go away.
Brad H, you were right!

What kind of a person says that?

As it stands, his crap will continue until perhaps PEOPLE STOP RESPONDING TO HIS DARNOLD POSTS.

14-3

Did we win the division?
Were we going to sign him or Jones after the season because Jones was 1/2 the cost and better?
Did the Bucs win Sunday?
What is the Vikings SOS 2024 versus 2025?

All I can say is: Brad is wrong about this.

right now I'd say everybody is. It is far too soon to make such determinations. You cannot judge a guys career to be a success or failure after two games.

If we did Peyton Manning would never have been the two time superbowl winning HOFer he is.

JJ love the game. Football junkie. studies really hard....the game clearly hasn't slowed down for him yet. Once it does it could be really good, but it could be really bad. It happens all the time in the NFL. A new QB gets overwhelmed and happy feet etc once the game hits them at full speed. It takes a little time to adjust. It is evident in the way McCarthy is slow to get to the line, and not making quick decisions. He's clearly not used to the speed yet. Once he is...It could be fun.

Certain posters had already decided he'd be a failure before he was even drafted and they are stubborn and sticking to it.

I think we all need to take a step back. Stop making assumptions. And let this season play out. We should a more accurate picture by season's end just what we have with JJ McCarthey. Brad many be right...but he may be wrong too. It's just too early to tell.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/13/2025 12:34:35 PM)

I am not making a judgement about McCarthy, though I do think McCarthy will also, over time, prove Brad to be wrong.

I think Brad is wrong about Darnold, and that the right decision was to let Darnold go, just like it was the right decision to let Cousins go.

Trekgeekscott -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/13/2025 12:41:07 PM)

There is really no point to pining over Darnold, Jones, Rodgers, or Cousins etc.

They are gone and not likely to return. Shoulda woulda coulda (though this part is unlikely). Darnold is playing well enough in Seattle, Jones is winning in Indy. Cousins is a shell of his mediocre self. Rodgers would have been too much drama. Now we just need to see what we have with McCarthy. Wentz isn't blowing me away.

The main point is they needed 2 years to clear Kirk's salary and paying Darnold wouldn't have helped.....

David Levine -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/13/2025 6:15:32 PM)

As they come out of their bye, the Vikings have the NFL's most difficult remaining schedule, per ESPN's Football Power Index. They will play 5 of the league's top 10 teams, as ranked by FPI, over the next 8 weeks. (Assumes Ravens QB Lamar Jackson returns for Week 10.)

End of 2024 QBR rankings:
Sam Darnold 14

Current 2025 QBR Rankings
Daniel Jones 1
Sam Darnold 3

Before the last 2 games when it all mattered in 2024 Sam was top 5 and dropped to 14 by year end in 2024......

According to ESPN Sam had the 2nd worst QBR rating for the 2024 playoffs.

Why did you post them?

The cynic in me thinks it's because this is your normal MO, to continue your narrative on your stubborn opinion on JJ McCarthy.

Brad H -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/14/2025 9:23:14 AM)

You guys just can't stop yourself from talking about Sam Darnold. The guy is in your head.

Well,I didn't mention Sam Darnold, Or Daniel Jones for that matter. You posted the QB ratings.

I couldn't care less about this topic at all right now. I made that clear yesterday.

what's amazing is three of those qb's were begging to be vikings this season...o'connell has huge regrets with the decision he made....

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/14/2025 10:30:21 AM)

The Vikings have drafted a QB that is capable of winning a Super Bowl.

It would be best if we stopped talking about past QBs, and focused on talking about the good things about McCarthy, and creating positive vibes, creating a winning atmosphere where McCarthy can flourish.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (10/14/2025 10:31:44 AM)

KOC has no regrets, the young stud will rise again soon, the 4th quarter in Chicago was just a sampling.

Where are we at on the season again? Week 7 and we still have chance at this point to win the division. I think that is pretty good considering injuries and the strength of schedule.

Begging?

really?

Darnold begged for about a whole half minute before he signed with the Seahawks.
Jones barely said a word before signing with the Colts.
Aaron Rodgers expressed interest but it wasn't mutual,

And I doubt KOC has time for regrets. He believes in what he's got.

Woohoo! Another season of not being that good being good enough for the playoffs. You can blame injuries, scheduling, and swallows carrying coconuts …

but I’m still waiting to see the franchise show real in-season improvement with this regime.
