The Vikes suddenly have another problem. The Bears are really good.

They're definitely well coached. And learning how to win.

Since 2 they've won all their close games. They have wins by 1, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 points.

Eagles are terrible against the run, so the Bears just ran it down their throats.

And they protected Caleb by not having him do much.

Caleb Williams is another thing Brad is right about.

Ben Johnson has always seemed to have Flore's number, and Detroit is weakened slightly by his departure, making the Puke and the Bears stronger.

Below 50% today. 1 TD, 1 INT.

Christian Ponder like yards and stats....

almost like they had a running game that protected his weak ass play..

Almost like Chicago was playing the Super Bowl champs defense, in their house, and punked them.

BisonFan -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/29/2025 8:10:57 AM)

I was impressed with the Bears yesterday and their ability to run the ball right at the Eagles front line. Caleb is good, but I am tired of so many of the media type making him sound like a truly incredible quarterback. I think Ben Johnson could probably make most quarterbacks look good once they understood the system.

I am just ready for the Vikings to get through the season and hopefully get a real plan in place, preferably without Kwesi being in that mix.

Very little talent around the kid. Wait until they get some real weapons in Chicago. Odunze is emerging and Moore has now regressed into a #2 receiver, but neither is an established top-15-20 target at this point in their respective careers.

Williams is a winner. I think he is taking over as the top quarterback in the division.

9-3 folks. What do you people have against winning? If you didn't like a guy that went 14-3, you may be impossible to please.

Caleb reminds me a lot of Baker Mayfield in his first two years in the league. The great thing about Caleb is that he wants to get better and be great.

He is a problem the Vikings are going to have to deal with for a long time.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/29/2025 8:47:46 AM)

One thing is for certain. We now have to spend another high-ish pick on QB. No way you go into next season with JJM as the clear #1. A full season, 5 games with an ankle and now a concussion? If Brosmer shows anything we may have to try the Purdy thing and see if we too can catch lightning in a bottle

I'm starting to think our OLine coach needs to go. We have just as much talent as other teams but we still get manhandled in a lot of games. Bears and GB OLines make ours look soft. I think it is coaching.

Williams is like Lamar Jackson in his early years. Escapability is awesome. Throws are hit and miss. Odunze seems like he is open alot and isn't getting the ball.

They both went to Quarterback U (Oklahoma). Caleb, Baker, Gabriel, Hurts. Mateer next year.

Times have changed since the old Wishbone days.

That Wishbone O was unstoppable and a lot of fun.

The Bears seem more like the 2022 Vikings who finished 13-4.

Right now top 4 teams(the way they are playing) in NFC are SEA, GB, CHI and Dallas. Things change fast. Who will have momentum at the end of the year?

Yes Mark, Chris Kuper/KOC = Richard Solomon/Dennis Green.

But it's also QBing, and not calling enough dink and dunk, and not enough run plays.

Yep. Totally forgot about them. NFC is up for grabs. As is AFC.

This is not the same Eagles defense.

They bend but don't break against the pass (18th in yards, 4th in TDs).

But you can run all over them (24th in yards, 25th in TDs).

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/29/2025 6:31:02 PM)

This Eagle's defense just held Green Bay to 7 points in Green Bay, held Detroit to 9 points at Philthy, then played a healthy, high powered Cowboys offense in Dallas, and gave up 24 points.

Then they got the Bears at home, and got punked.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 7:25:14 AM)

Looking back at the 5 QBs drafted

Maye/Daniels - look like franchise guys
Nix - may not be a "franchise" guy, but runs the offense well, hate Payton, but the guy knows how to coach and knows what he'd doing.
Williams - all his weaknesses have been exposed. Great arm, but not a good passer, at his best playing sandlot ball. On a good roster with a lot of talent and good coach carrying him.
JJ - effing disaster, laughing stock of the NFL. Looks like he may have just been a massive fraud. We are talking Jamarcus Russell level type play.

Also - just read, that KOC has never had a top 10 offense. Remember when everyone said he would "use JJ and Cooper Kupp:?
KOC - McVay's coffee boy, being exposed big time as a fraud

Chris Olson -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 11:37:02 AM)

That feels too accurate, Arlowe

Chris Olson -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 11:41:36 AM)

I think today will be telling, though Brosmer will be facing a buzz saw defense, which could make it tough

I know people don't want to just give up on JJM, but at this point it feels like the right thing to do...

Don't sink time, money, and effort in shining a turd

Cut your losses and move on

Good rundown.

Was never impressed with KOC's credentials considering McVay ran the offense. There is a big difference between locking yourself in a room to design passing plays vs actual playcalling, having a feel for the game, halftime adjustments (what's that?!), using timeouts wisely, playing to the strengths of the offense, etc. Almost 4 years with no improvement.
