I think today will be telling, though Brosmer will be facing a buzz saw defense, which could make it tough

I know people don't want to just give up on JJM, but at this point it feels like the right thing to do...

Don't sink time, money, and effort in shining a turd

Cut your losses and move on

Let him compete next year. But even if he magically gets the mechanics down, let's the game come to him, passes with accuracy, and on and on, I don't see him being the QB in the SB needing to go 92 yards to win and saying "Isn't that John Candy?". He let himself become a basket case, the complete opposite of having "It".

Jeff Jesser -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 12:49:46 PM)

What a kick in the crotch season. From here on out we should lose them all to get great draft picks but you have a maroon making them. I just want to see the O look semi competent with Max. Is that too much to ask for KOC? Today will fill in a lot of ?'s on him, for me.

He tries too hard to have an unreadable offense.

What the **** is the deal with no slants or quick throws?

Every play is ( on passing situations) run a deep route tree and read four or five possible throws, while trying to be a pocket passer ?

It’s maddening to watch other teams do quick outs and slants for4-5 yards a play, or hit a quick seam route up the middle ..

We have ZERO. Plays like that.. they happen 2-3 times a game..

I’m really not liking his play calls, in short yardage.. second and 3! Let’s throw a 12 yard dig or skinny post!

.. 3-2?

Let’s throw that deep corner fade or crossing route 15 yards down field..

Ints, waiting to happen, when corners and safeties have better angles than the receivers..

And Kwesi? Had the 12 th with Kyle Hamilton on the ****ing board and trades down for Cine?
If your taking a safety? Why trade down?

Shoulda been fired on the spot.

KOC seems to be a 'it worked in the past, just need to execute' guy. Most of these other young coaches who have had sustained success have changed with personnel. Hopefully KOC figures it out.

In the Twin Cities, Brosmer might become New Hampshire QB after that one.

Todd M -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 6:51:30 PM)

It's pain free for me.

QB Whisperer and offensive genius my ass.

Moving JJ was the move, not the contract. Now we're a complete dumpster fire.

Someone told me - be adaptable to change. Shouldn't be 180 but here we are.

The Jefferson contract was stupid! He doesn't tilt any games in our favor. Building around a soft wr when you need a qb. Typical dysfunctional Vikings move.

Come on man! Jefferson has two (2) TDs so far this season, zero (0) in the last 4 weeks. The dude owes Cousins at least $100 million for those precious 'yards'.

Fits right in with con man O'Connell.

He's not a con man as much as the media labels him. He and Kwesi are just two dudes who were hired and probably woke up thinking it was just a dream. Kwesi though looks quite content in the super box seats, it's all gravy.

I would be fine if we move on from KOC.

But, to put these two as even in the failure department is wrong. One guy fills a roster with older injury prone players because he drafts are horrible and the other guy has had more success than failure(Win loss record)

Eh, it becomes a finger pointing game. Both are judged on the teams W/L record, but that record is a mirage. 2022 was a complete happenstance... for example playing so many teams who started their backup QBs, one score games, etc, and 2024 wasn't far behind. And again (from the Gameday thread), 44% of the teams make the playoffs so that record is no big deal when one looks at the big picture.

Tweddle dee and Tweddle dumb, take your pick as to who is who.

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 9:46:25 PM)

I have that feeling of despair after the whooping from the Chargers.

It feels like the team is several years away from competing, that there just too many things to try and correct.

But still alive, 😂

marty -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (11/30/2025 9:49:59 PM)

It seems like defenses are focused on shutting down the Vikings passing attack, daring KOC to run heavily, and he won't do it. Are defenses using the blueprint of the Lions and Rams losses last year, on how to shutdown the Vikings' offense ?

I think even Brad would agree, this team would still be lucky to even be .500 this season, had they resigned Darnold.

Arlowe84 -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/1/2025 7:15:30 AM)

Man, i bit the Brosmer smoke they were giving all week

Not much to say. Its dark right now, real dark
The concerning thing is no clear way out
Lots of cuts this offseason to get into cap shape
Your best player disgusted with the team
The competetive rebuild has provided some hope but delayed the inevitable
Lack of quality draft picks and depth has caught up with this team
There is no magic elixir at QB. Watching Aaron Rogers, he’s beyond washed
The only silver lining is we got 10 draft picks to start turning this around, but have little hope with KAM and Grigson running this thing
Seemd like the last 4 years were wasted trying to to squeeze something out of this roster

Lars -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/1/2025 7:33:37 AM)

For anyone who thought this was just a JJM problem and Brosmer would be the salve, need to see more? Hot garbage. That pick 6 was straight out of a HS game.

This is a KOC and KAM problem. Running an offense like you have a 10 year vet out there. KOC is not a developer of young QB. He can put a little polish on an old turd with some weapons around him (KFC, Darnold, etc.) And KAM's draft are shite.

This offense and team has no identity. That goes straight to the top.

And sorry, but Darnold looked the same to me. Sacked how many times? Two fumbles? One lost? Like 150 yards passing? For $100M+? No thanks.

And if the skill guys like JJ wanna pout and cry, catch the ****ing ball.

On one bright note, Turner seems to be getting better each week, IMHO.

Toby Stumbo -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/1/2025 7:42:50 AM)

I really had high hopes KOC was the guy to finally get us to the big dance again but it's really looking like he was just false hope all along. This year has emphasized his flaws and inability to adjust his offense to the competition. I think we would be better off promoting Flores to HC, at least his guys compete every week and don't give up. At the very least, get a new O-line coach and stop KOC from calling plays.

Rob Viking -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/1/2025 8:20:37 AM)

Last season was a mirage of sorts. The schedule was too perfect. They were able to sneak up on teams early and were granted a cake mid season schedule. Still impressive but it's not like they went through a gauntlet.

True. In fact both winning season's under KOC felt like that and most of the advanced analytics showed they had a fair amount of luck go there way, won a lot of close games, etc

And then both teams laid eggs in the playoffs, and they looked pretty outclassed by the Rams last year

But the massive dorp off has clearly been due to a near inopperable offense with young, not ready QBs

Rob Viking -> RE: General Vikes Talkk (12/1/2025 9:58:17 AM)

The franchise will regret letting Harbaugh walk out the door for KOC. Harbaugh would have brought a mental toughness to this team. I see the Chargers suffering the same injuries on their OLine and he has adapted.

I still have some hope for KOC, but everything needs to fall into place for his offense to succeed. Namely the health of the OLine.

If the team keeps tanking, let's land Caleb Downs a generational talent at safety.

Safe to say O'Connell is the false messiah.

His next job will be a motivational speaker for the latest pyramid scam.

Kwesi already passed on the last generational safety in favor of Lewis Cine.

Indy seems to be flaming out fast

Woukdn’t be surprised if they bring in Daniel Jones next year with JJ as backup
Unless JJ balls out rest of season
Seems unlikely

9-3

Not sure what you guys have against winning. It's a puzzling phenomenon with you people.

Not every game can be perfect. Your expectations are unreasonable. The guy still has the #7 passer rating and #9 QB rating in the league. His team is 9-3. He's 23-6 (.793) during the regular season since the beginning of last season.

For $33-million, that's a huge bargain.
