The first law of bobbledynamics is this:

A bobble head in motion, tends to keep bobbling, regardless of outside influence or logic.
while a bobble head at rest,
tends to start bobbling exponentially proportional to it's relative proximity to other bobble heads.

That's pretty funny. [&:]

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/5/2014 7:04:47 PM)

I picked all the home teams, happily going 1-3 [:D].

Ian Joseph -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/5/2014 9:30:00 PM)

Must be nice.. I went 0-4.

Ricky J -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/5/2014 9:56:59 PM)

In the confidence pick pool I'm playing for money with 13 people I'm the leader with two wins - we go round by round. I put 16 on SF, 12 on Indy, 8 on Philly, and 4 on Cinn. So close to being 0-4.

Ian Joseph -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/5/2014 9:57:47 PM)

Wish I had followed yours and Todd's lead.

Ian, my 1-3 isn't much better than your 0-4 as the only team I got right had to come back from 28 points to win. [&:]

Dude.. im in a contest at work, where each WC game was worth 3 points.. I was comfortably in the lead on Friday. Not anymore.

Prediction:

If the Packers win, Marty will say how he knew it, doesn't like it, but it went just like he thought it would.

If the Packer lose, Marty will say how he knew it, he just picked them so they would lose and it worked like he thought it would.

Tomorrow the Colts win and the Saints take it in an upset. Niners and Bengals advance too.

Three out of four aint bad Prescott!

Ricky J -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/6/2014 8:12:32 AM)

We do ours through Yahoo. The next round will be the same amount of points but you get penalized heavily for missing picks in the CG & SB.

Didn't he also have all home teams?

No, road team won every game except Indy

Also, teams from the better divisions won every game except Indy

I was 2 of 4

Trekgeekscott -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/6/2014 2:17:32 PM)

Going forward, I am current rooting for Carolina and Chargers in the Superbowl.

After the Vikings are out...since they were never in it doesn't matter.

First I want the Packers ousted...check
Patriots ousted...hopefully next week...but probably have to wait.
Cowboys ousted....like the Vikes never made it in.

So outside of the Patriots losing, I want the teams that have the fewest SB titles.  Right now, that Carolina or Seattle and San Diego since none have a title.  After them it comes down to least recent title...Which would be the 49ers, Then Broncos, then Colts then Saints.

So I want the remaining teams ousted in the following order
Patriots
Saints
Colts
Broncos
Seahawks
Panthers
Chargers

Rooting for the Chargers/Panthers Superbowl because I want two teams in there that I really wouldn't mind winning it all.
All the other teams can suck it.

I generally don't give a rat's patootie although I lean NFC, #1 I don't want Seattle I guess my list would be:

Seahawks
Saints
49ers
Panthers
Chargers
Patriots
Broncos
Colts

I might have rated the Chargers as more of a favorite, but if they win, then that reduces the list of teams that have never won the SB.

Hmm, weird that I generally favor the NFC, but my list turned out with all 4 AFC teams preferred to the NFC teams

I would love to see that

Seahawks-Colts would be fun also - battle of the young guns

Steve Lentz -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/6/2014 5:18:49 PM)

Last year I said the Seahawks and Frisco would be the 2 best teams in football. I still believe that. I don't see the Colts coming out of the AFC. Manning or Brady probably.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/6/2014 6:50:39 PM)

It was probably just hopeful Packer fans, but last offseason, many believed Kap and Wilson would be continuously hurt with all the running they do.

The Colts might be good enough, but their defense was pretty soft against KC. The league might prefer Manning or Brady in the SB as they are getting up there in age, whereas Luck will likely have many other chance in the future. OTOH, maybe it's Luck's time to shine, and they probably feel like they can overcome any lead. OTOH, Buffalo probably felt that way the year they made the largest comeback in playoff history, but they didn't win the SB.

Bill Jandro -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/7/2014 9:47:53 AM)

You guys whom have the Saints near the top of your list have a very short memory

The bountygate playoff game cost us a SB[X(]

The Saints are the last team I would ever root for in the field

I had to relook cause that was a WTF moment.

You have to flip their lists. Both have NO as 2nd LEAST favorite.

There are different types of "running" QBs

Guys like Kaepernick, Wilson, etc run smart. They know how to slide and run out of bounds and don't take many big hits. heck, Andrew Luck is in this category also as he ran for over 350 yards and 4 TDs this year.

Then there are the daredevil runners like RGIII and Vick - they are the guys who get busted up from running.

Cam Newton is the exception because he has the size to take a few hits - as long as they are not in the knee like Culpepper took

Rob Viking -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/7/2014 10:02:01 AM)

I can't stand Seattle, mainly because of Sherman and Carroll. But they can play no doubt.

I hope it's Broncos-49ers. The 49ers are the best team IMO and have a great squad with arguably the best coach. I want to see Peyton in the SB to really solidify his legacy as the GOAT. If it does happen hopefully it doesn't turn out like the previous SB between those teams.

A Seahawks-49ers NFCCG and Broncos-Pats AFCCG would be a treat for all.

Bountygate cost us nothing

It was the NFC CG - let's not pretend for one minute that they got some advantage because of that

This is not the Patriots spying

John Childress -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (1/7/2014 10:03:23 AM)

The Vikings lost the 09 NFC CG because Brett Favre decided to get cute and make a stupid pass when he could have literally walked into FG range to win the game

People still on that. Of course that was part of it but you have to ignore a lot of shit to just run that one up the flagpole.

Lucky the guy was still in the game. Ponder wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes. Of course they wouldn't be trying to take Ponder out of the game. Bad plan.

There were other options and Favre ****ed up. Beyond silly to just hold onto that (the INT) IMO.
