6-4 in double OT

I had this as a guaranteed loss before the season started, but I now feel like the Vikings have a chance, if they can get a good early lead.

I think the Vikings will be ahead in the 2nd quarter when Darnold will be injured, probably knocked out for the season, or we get lucky and he's only knocked out for 4 or 5 games.

SF 26 MN 19

All that time wasted trying to manifest a Darnold injury in Game 2...

Nothing but clear skies…

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/15/2024 3:32:48 PM)

Was not in any way trying to manifest a Darnold injury.

I was predicting it because of the Vikings brutal early schedule, thinking he would be MIA for a few games, or lost for the season.

Instead it appears it will be Hock, Addison and Jefferson missing the tough part of the schedule.

David Levine -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/15/2024 3:43:25 PM)

Dude. You’re the guy who believes you can speak things into existence. And you sure liked to bring up Darnold getting hurt in Game 2.

Jefferson is likely day-to-day.

So based on your predictions, I assume he’ll play next game.

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/15/2024 6:06:23 PM)

We’re likely to have Jets and LGP next week and we’re going to be a tough out.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/15/2024 6:50:23 PM)

David, I believe in collectively speaking things into existence, like maybe the Vikings winning the division this year. We don't collectively speak into existence an injury to our starting QB.

I am happy to be wrong about Darnold getting hurt, we will need as many healthy players as possible to beat Houston next week.

Mark Anderson -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/16/2024 12:14:06 PM)

We need to run the ball well next week to slow down that pass rush. I think we can.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/18/2024 11:33:06 AM)

Before the season, I didn't think the Vikings had much of a chance against SF or Houston, but there have been a few surprises, and I now believe the Vikings will beat Houston as well.

I am surprised how quickly the defense seemed to come together, I think teams will always have a tough time playing against this defense in Minnesota, and the teams playing it earlier in the season will probably have a harder time making adjustments to it, as there is less film.

Flores has his pieces in place, and Darnold has exceeded expectations so far.

I am thinking the Vikings will beat Houston in a very close game.

Experts split on the Vikings game this week.

Brad, thanks for the link, before the Vikings game, I enjoyed the expert's conversation about the Viking, Texans, QBing, etc ....

It was good to see Dave Dabbah get it right with picking the Vikings [;)].

I still have some reservations about Darnold, I hope he plays well in Lamb-blow, it will be the biggest test he has had so far.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/28/2024 8:18:08 PM)

It's a little early, but my season predictions I overestimated Jax and Miami, and underestimated Seattle and Minnesota.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (9/28/2024 8:20:09 PM)

I now think the Vikings are going to win the game tomorrow in Lamb-blow.

The Vikings will win if Love starts, and the Vikings will win by more if it's Willis.

Vikings 22 Packers 16

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/6/2024 5:34:17 AM)

Jets get off to a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Vikings tie it up 17-17 in the quarter.

Vikings win with a FG in OT.

Vikings 20 Jets 17 OT

Todd M -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/6/2024 8:00:33 AM)

Vikes 42 Jets 17. Never a game…

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/6/2024 11:58:36 AM)

I had the final score nailed with 3 minutes to play, thankfully Reichard still makes FGs, even if it's a little off the mark.

I was NOT hoping he'd miss to get the final score right.

The defense really rose to the occasion, need the MVP of the offense Aaron Jones to get healthy.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/22/2024 2:16:26 PM)

I have NEVER predicted a Super Bowl participant before the season, in about 25 seasons.

But things are lining up right now where I get both Super Bowl participants correct, I had KC over Detroit.

A LOT of football yet to be played, I wouldn't count out the Ravens or the Steelers, while the Bills or even Jets could be a sleeper.

In the NFC, Minnesota, Philly, GB, and even Washington and Chicago could still be in the mix.

marty -> RE: Predictions for Next Week (and maybe beyond) (10/24/2024 6:56:17 PM)

I think the Vikings are going to win this one by a FG, by more if Cashman is playing.

Vikings 33, Rams 30
