ORIGINAL: drew I know they'll win more than 2 games in the B1G this year. Not as confident we'll make the Dance. Shooting/scoring will become a problem in league play. But much improved and fun to watch now. They will be 12-1 after nonconference....probably 10-8, 11-7 in conference if they stay healthy. They have beaten Arkansas (32) , Vandy (88), UT Arlington (27), and Ill State (81). Arkansas St. is ranked 32 in the RPI and we face them Friday. Our one loss is to FSU which is ranked 22. Pretty strong SOS on preseason opponents actually. You may laugh but current RPI has us at 8. That's a cool stat that we're currently 8 in the RPI. If we can go 9-9 in the league this year, I'd be very happy. To go from 2 wins to .500 the next year would be fantastic. I'm just not totally convinced we're there yet. Amir was the big get. He makes things go. Actually it is a few things: 1) Their overall height is better 2) Springs is a good bench shooter/scorer & Coffey is the scoring wing they missed last year 3) Better defense inside/out with Lynch/Curry/Coffey 4) Better offense inside Lynch/Curry 5) Better Rebounding with Lynch/Curry/Coffey & Konate as 3rd Center off of bench 6) They are way more physical with Lynch/Curry/Konate and moving Murphy to PF (he had to play center at times last year at 6'7") 7) Improvement of McBrayer, Murphy, Konate, and Mason from last year--being pushed by the new guys in practice hasn't hurt If Fitzgerald hadn't tore his knee this was a top 10 team. I don't think they have the depth to be a top 10 but I think they will be a top 25 team that makes the tourney.
