Very fun win
We pounded them into submission
Love being bigger and faster than supposedly good programs
We may have some behavior issues, but we do have some athletes
Cannot win without em.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (12/28/2016 10:48:15 AM)

And we're young.
There's hope here.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (12/28/2016 10:50:01 AM)

Outstanding defensive scheme
Confused the hell out of a supposedly good offense
Never saw THAT coming.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (12/28/2016 11:56:04 AM)

90 year-old huge gopher fans from my hometown were joined at breakfast on game day yesterday by Claeys.
He's a good old boy, fer sure ....
His players saved his job. Hoping he remembers that.

Karl Juhnke -> RE: Gopher Football (12/28/2016 8:48:06 PM)

Got to say it. That was a win primarily by brilliant defensive coaching. Those schemes they threw at WSU had them completely out of whack. Sometimes there were just two down linemen and guys scattered everywhere. They never knew how to read it, who was in coverage, who was rushing.

Brad H -> RE: Gopher Football (12/29/2016 10:20:06 AM)

Great game by the Gophers on Tuesday. They played inspired. If they had a quarterback this season they could have played for something a bit more special.

Seen Washington State many times. The field conditions were not to their liking. They are used to a fast track. Having said that, the Gophers looked like the team that wanted to be there. Washington State looked disinterested.

Love seeing the Buckeyes and Wolverines get their hopes smashed nationally.

Exactly. They (OState & Mich) could lose 40 more in a row and it would be fine with me. IMO, the entire conference was a complete fraud this season. The Gophers faced more adversity than any other team in the conference for the bowl season and looked the best. I'd love to see USC run up the score on Penn State on Monday. That would completely dismantle any thought that the Big Ten was the best conference in the country this year.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 2:30:51 PM)

Oh, myyyyyyyyy

Cumulative halftime score of Iowa's last five bowl games: Iowa 10, opponents 108

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 2:53:34 PM)

Chauncey Gardner returns an interception 58 yards to the house to give Florida a 24-3 lead over Iowa in the fourth quarter on ABC.

Wisconsin played well.

clapclap .... clapclapclap
over-rated ....
clapclap .....clapclapclap

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 3:23:36 PM)

If Penn State wins, I'll be satisfied with the B10's performance in bowl games.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 3:24:33 PM)

Florida only scored 30 points three times this season but now leads Iowa 30-3 in the Outback Bowl. The Gators have managed a couple of big plays but have mostly benefited from excellent field position created by their defense. Chauncey Gardner has a pair of interceptions, including a pick-six. Iowa is about to lose its fifth straight bowl game.

Even if Penn State loses, I will be satisfied with the B10's performance in bowl games because the Gophers won, and that's the important one to me.

Even fat-boy wins a bowl game.

Of course, the U can't get to a NY day bowl game to lose.

Losses by IA to real teams

Oklahoma/LSU/Tennessee/Stanford/Florida

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 3:35:47 PM)

MN would be destroyed by all of those as well.

B10 remains over-rated

Yup, Iowa at least has legit reasons to struggle

Hey! We agree on something !
Its all about me.

and you, apparently ...

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 4:21:01 PM)

My first concern is with the Gophers.

My second concern is with the B10.

I don't care about the other conferences.

So do you want Claeys to keep his job?

I don't.

I'd cite "lack of instituional control".

twinsfan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/2/2017 4:53:52 PM)

I think I'd give Claeys next year and see where we're at. I don't see anyone better willing to come here right now.
