Go after the old Bizon guy, the new Bizon guy, the wanna be Bizon guy, just go that way

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 3:50:23 PM)

I don't think they had a choice. Easier finding a new coach after winning a bowl game.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 3:50:46 PM)

Not a surprise. If any of us had the senior management at their work huddling to discuss what to do with us, what would we expect the outcome to be?

A raise, but that's just me ...

Fleck would be an intriguing hire, but I read that Oregon and couple of others are already interested in him. This will be a real test of Coyle's acumen as an AD. Can he manage to hire a good football coach without subjecting us to the cluster f*** that always seems to precede a hiring like this? The last one to pull that off was Deinhart when he hired Mason.

Physical or monetary?

Monetary.

I'm disappointed a lot

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:04:22 PM)

Wonder how those Football players feel now.....they just got their coach fired. Too much pressure from the public to keep him especially since they still don't have all the fund raising for all the facilities.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:04:58 PM)

Done

Good

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:06:16 PM)

Yes they did (get him fired)

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:08:40 PM)

Maybe they'll have to boycott again. Or find a crying room.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:09:22 PM)

Claeys contributed to it as well. Nobody was calling for his head until that idiotic tweet.

SoMnFan -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:10:59 PM)

Someone get us an available list .....
This could be fun

Lost your senior quarterback

Future NFL'er

Devastating situation to get into.

Phil Riewer -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:12:45 PM)

I am still surprised they went all in with the attempted boycott......it was more of a time to stay quiet, plead the 5th, apologize, etc. not bring more light to it like the did....and also as Claeys did. Foolish.

Greatest part of the job
Not committed to play the country's worst college QB anymore

Can't agree more
Needed humility
Showed none

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:16:47 PM)

Yep, they were arrogant and stupid. How did they think it wouldn't blow up in their faces?

When they bitched about their freedom of speech during their meet the press and announce their boycott, I began to wonder just what crap have they been taught in their courses. There is no free speech.......you work for an employer, you can't go and bad mouth the employer and expect your job to be intact. You maybe can't be jailed for expressing your opinions but you sure can lose your job. (and scholarship).

Baylor still has its mess. Athletes running around w/o any self control and programs looking the other way have to reign this crap in. And if the big donors don't get it, go give their money to political candidates instead.

Even Antoine Winfield got involved...I think they thought their kids and fellow teammates were innocent....but not now. Haven't heard a peep from any parent since.

I don't know the specifics but it sounds like they tried to shame the girl to keep it quiet but something happened, she filed suit, and then the truth happened.

TJSweens -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:35:23 PM)

No, there is an in house committee on affirmative action and conduct at the U that investigates after the County is finishes with its investigations. Since they don't start until the county finishes the players were reinstated after the announcement of no charges, but then suspended when the committee finished its investigation. It turns out the standard for conduct is higher than simply not being charged with a felony while you attend the U.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:46:52 PM)

Apparently a number of players...and others.... still don't get it. Winning doesn't excuse everything

Mr. Ed -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 4:50:22 PM)

Saw a number of "angry" emoticons on facebook.

......

Dunno what to say. IMO he got what he deserved, with the Twitter msg after the boycott started.

Yay, I support my boys who have no idea what they're doing, over a gang-bang some of the boys recorded.

Har Har, kids will be kids.

Pig

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 5:06:09 PM)

Will it even matter if we sign some random jackass who has ties to that budding powerhouse Syracuse? Even when they were somewhat relevant, they weren't. I'll be in 'who cares' mode until I can get excited that they are bringing a guy to get excited about.

What a miserable feeling when it comes to sports. That decision of "I can't even care at this point".

As for TC's and his downfall. As I'm getting more info, he brought it on. Sad. And, really, WTF did Jerry Kill and his band of mediocrity do to deserve this feeling of self worth they have completely over inflated? It's starting to appear that Limegrover could have been the "smart" one [:-]

MDK -> RE: Gopher Football (1/3/2017 5:07:21 PM)

I guess playing football with the financial support of a scholarship is a right today, not a privilege.

Sometimes it is much better to simply stfu instead of going on social media to express your views.
