ORIGINAL: Phil Riewer Rumor was a lot of season tickets didn't get renewed and they were having trouble with donations for the athletic village....Claeys wasnt the type of coach to help with it (Jerry was better). Jerry is no big loss as Claeys was the better coach. Kill somehow thinks he is royalty--doesn't make sense to me. Agreed. This whole B.S. of Kill getting indignant with Coyle for his comments on the culture of the program he built is a bit ridiculous. Last time I checked Jerry, 10 of the kids you and Tracy Claeys recruited and coached engaged in or facilitated a group sexual assault. Do think maybe that undermines your self righteousness a bit? Sweens that is where it is really grey....it is up to 10 kids and they don't know for sure on all the kids after the first 2 and one was a recruit. We don't know which kids are lying about their involvement as they are accusing the girl of being drunk during it---so there is a chance she is picking the wrong kids out of the 100 some on the team The scary part that I have heard from someone is this wasn't the first one as one of the guys job was to watch the door and he mentioned that he had done it before. If you read the report, it is not gray. There is plenty of corroboration and video evidence of who she picked out. And more to my initial point ... Kill has no business getting indignant over Coyle's comments in light of what happened. Don't pretend the culture was beyond reproach when something like this happened. The way it went down, it was entirely enabled by culture. First, it's bad enough that a player and a recruit double teamed on her. But at least at that point one could make an argument that she consented, though wasn't happy about it. Then after that the messages started flying around, the players got wind that there was a vulnerable woman, and a total wolfpack mentality ensued. Kill can just eff right off with being indignant about questions being asked about how all this was possible. No it doesn't mean Claeys is pro sexual assault. But it may mean he's doing a poor job of commincating what sort of behavior is expected of UM athletes...not to mention bungling the handling of it when they do screw up.
