I've watched less - only one team I care about and that's the Pirates because of Liriano, Morneau, and their years of losing.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 2:04:09 PM)

Ani Sanchez coughed up gopher balls right and left today.

Dave E -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 3:33:39 PM)

Didn't the Twins dump Balfour because he opted for TJ surgery they didn't want him to have? Ugh.

Yes, they went around and around over injury and treatment.

Stacey King -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 3:49:18 PM)

Wacha on the mound.

Wainwright for Game 5.

Cards looking good.

Dodgers vs. Cards for

the right to face the Red Sox in the WS.

Cards can take them, don't think the Dodgers can.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 3:52:43 PM)

Wacha no-hitter thru 6

Cards will be good for awhile.

Wacha
Miller
Wainwright
Lynn
Rosenthal

as a 5-man rotation.

With Kelly ready to step in though not as talented as those 5.

And Carlos Martinez getting the break-in through the bullpen treatment in 2014 that they use -while having the potential to be a top of the rotation starter.

And Oscar Tavares coming up as a big bat next season.

(Cards old director of scouting is building the Astros now. All the while TR and his dinosaur staff of cronies have tenure because they are so well respected)

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 4:02:47 PM)

7 innings

no hitter.

Dinosaur staff. Spot on.

Stacey King -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 4:04:42 PM)

Twins won 1 play-off round 11 years ago.

High standards we are keeping employed.

Stacey King -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 4:08:52 PM)

...and 1 play-off round win in the last 22 years.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 4:17:50 PM)

No hitter ends on HR.

Alvarez is a .230s hitter, but clubs HRs.
Twins have .230s hitters that COMBINED can't touch Alvarez' HR total.

But who cares?

TWins have a bee-u-ti-ful ballpark. That alone is reason to come. Winning? Secondary. If that.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/7/2013 9:31:50 PM)

Amazing.

MLB actually allowed the Rays to win a game in this series.

Totally agree....so biased towards the Sox and Yanks...
Another reason why I do not watch ESPN too!

You're giving MLB too much credit.  The Rays won it against MLB's wishes.  That "stolen base" by the Sox in the Top of the 8th (Quintin Berry?) was pathetic.  That blown call probably should have cost the Rays the game.  But they overcame it.

All those walks. Seems like, anything borderline for Boston is a ball.

Pitch to a breadbasket. Credit to the Rays to win.

LAD took the Braves out. Wonder if McCann blocked the entry way to the clubhouse because they celebrated.

Didn't Uribe watch that HR too long? [&o]

Dave E -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 9:24:14 AM)

I can't believe the smug a-holes in LA beat the leaders in ATL. It's almost as if being a giant ass for perceived BS doesn't translate into winning.

CPAMAN, ask Bombo about what went wrong with McCann's leadership this series if you get a chance. [;)]

Vin Scully was heard mentioning there was no swimming pool to celebrate in [:D]

Yes. I'm kidding. Not sure if Dave is.

[&:][&:][&:]

Braves players don’t just get upset with their opponents. They’re actually mad at one of their own now. Chipper Jones went on a radio show last week and picked L.A. to beat Atlanta in four games. This reportedly ticked off the Braves, who then boycotted Jones’ ceremonial first pitch before Game 1.

You can see this playing out, can't you?

Dodgers/Red Sox World Series.

That's what MLB really wants.
