Amazing.

MLB actually allowed the Rays to win a game in this series.

You're giving MLB too much credit.  The Rays won it against MLB's wishes.  That "stolen base" by the Sox in the Top of the 8th (Quintin Berry?) was pathetic.  That blown call probably should have cost the Rays the game.  But they overcame it.

All those walks. Seems like, anything borderline for Boston is a ball.

Pitch to a breadbasket. Credit to the Rays to win.

LAD took the Braves out. Wonder if McCann blocked the entry way to the clubhouse because they celebrated.

Didn't Uribe watch that HR too long? [&o]

You can see this playing out, can't you?

Dodgers/Red Sox World Series.

That's what MLB really wants.

I want Pirates-A's.

I could live with that.  but you can see what MLB wants.
I actually don't have any problem really with the Dodgers, (except they have the feel of the 1996 Yankees, a team on the verge of going to the playoffs for the next two decades in a row etc)

When the Twins aren't in it, I tend to root for the team that won a ws the longest time ago.  Right now, that appears to be the Rays, since they haven't won one.  That's not likely to happen...

So, next is the Pirates 1979
Then the Tigers 1984
Dodgers 1988
As 1989
Red Sox 2008
And Cardinals...

Except the only team I hate more than the Red Sox is the Yankees, so I want them eliminated more than anyone...

Ideally for me its Tigers/Pirates with Jim Leyland losing to the team that made him famous in the first place.

I can't believe the smug a-holes in LA beat the leaders in ATL. It's almost as if being a giant ass for perceived BS doesn't translate into winning.

CPAMAN, ask Bombo about what went wrong with McCann's leadership this series if you get a chance. [;)]

Vin Scully was heard mentioning there was no swimming pool to celebrate in [:D]

Rays/Dodgers world series -- to they have the guts to jump in the tank?

That would be awesome. Someone from LAD probably would try. The A-Holes [&:]

Aren't there killer stingrays in that tank?

Yes. I'm kidding. Not sure if Dave is.

I know. You know it. Do the Dodgers know it? [:-]

Braves players don’t just get upset with their opponents. They’re actually mad at one of their own now. Chipper Jones went on a radio show last week and picked L.A. to beat Atlanta in four games. This reportedly ticked off the Braves, who then boycotted Jones’ ceremonial first pitch before Game 1.

Just saw that...ha! What a miserable team.

The self-appointed cops of MLB are out.

Awwww.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:02:11 PM)

Thought the A's had this one in the bag......until that really, really bad pitch to Peralta.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:04:11 PM)

OK, get it done Coco Puff.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:06:48 PM)

HOF! HOF! HOF!

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:15:58 PM)

Damn Tigers.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:17:41 PM)

Fan interference.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:20:36 PM)

Roider is the hero for the Tigers. Shouldn't count.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:30:32 PM)

Can't believe this. Thought the A's had this game.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:33:22 PM)

Coco's overall career numbers not as good as I had hoped. But who's better? Coco Crisp or Omar Vizquel? Give me Coco every day.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:39:17 PM)

Gardy would pinch run for Moss here.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:40:02 PM)

Isn't it sad that I've become so used to Gardy managing decisions, I almost expect other managers to "manage" the same way?

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:40:35 PM)

They gonna give Torii an error there? Very sloppy.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:44:58 PM)

Thank you for that terrible camera angle on the 3-1 pitch with bases juiced, TBS.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:46:10 PM)

DOH!!!!! How do you swing at that.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:48:25 PM)

this sucks

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:50:56 PM)

That Vogt AB a few minutes ago sucked. Reminded me of postseason Kubel.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 6:53:31 PM)

DAMMIT!!! Good AB though, Callaspo.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/8/2013 7:06:50 PM)

AL Cy Young - Iwakuma or Scherzer?

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/9/2013 10:56:37 AM)

AJ Burnett was the NL leader in K/9 this season.  But he was so brutal in Game 1, they are skipping him in favor of Gerrit Cole.  I can't blame them.  I haven't seen a meltdown like Burnett had in Game 1 since the Twins' final week of the regular season.

Mr. Ed -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/9/2013 3:51:00 PM)

am sure gardy's isn't this spendy:

The Yankees did not disclose financial details of the contract, but a source told ESPNNewYork.com's Andrew Marchand that the deal is worth $16 million and includes postseason bonuses. Girardi made $3 million this season.

twinsfan -> RE: MLB General Information PT 4 (10/9/2013 7:42:50 PM)

The way Morneau's looking, he shouldn't get more than 2 years at about $3 mil per season. Of course this will not be enough for him, so he's gonna try to prove himself on a 1-year $2 million contract. Twins will sign him. Right in our wheelhouse.

Why would anyone pay more than that for him?

Right now he's more useless than Punto was when we signed him for $4 million per season....in a depressed market.
