If the window closes, they will try to pull a Houston or Kansas City by bottoming out and then coming back even stronger. In the long run, that's actually better for the fans. It paid off for Houston. It paid off for Kansas City. Pittsburgh is going to try it now. Chasing that neon rainbow every single year doesn't work. Even for the big money teams. Look at the Dodgers as prime example #1. They are always competitive, but never get over the hump. They should think about scrapping it and starting over.
