After seeing his team lose in overtime without Aaron Rodgers touching the football, linebacker Clay Matthews said the NFL should go to the college rules, with both teams getting the ball.

It's post game whining to be sure, but I agree 100% with the sentiment. The college format is 1,000X > than the NFL format.

Rout in Charlotte. Fitzgerald or Jared Allen make the Super Bowl this year.

Sounds like Allen suffered a fractured foot and is out for the rest of the playoffs.

Unfortunate for him. At least he can be there.

All of the top four seeds (Broncos, Patriots, Panthers, Cardinals) have made their respective conference finals for the first time since the 2004 season (Falcons, Eagles, Patriots and Steelers).

SoMnFan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 12:57:21 AM)

12 of the 13 last Super Bowls will have either featured Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Ben Roethlisberger

TGS's head just exploded.

Black 47 -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 4:01:16 AM)

Playoffs have been meh. Thoroughly expect Pats to stomp next week. Steelers blew it. That game was right there for the taking. Missed the Carolina game. That was a surprise. Will be rooting for an Arizona/NE Superbowl. Don't want a Carolina/NE rematch.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 8:15:20 AM)

Manning/Brady. Again

Yay. So excited [&o]

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 9:17:22 AM)

I'm still trying to understand how that pussy move that Manning always does when someone gets near him (fall to the ground without being touched) wasn't "giving himself up".

I got better

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 11:22:05 AM)

One rule I think the NFL needs to deal with, is offensive RB/QB/Receivers can stiff arm and facemask guys.

Too much of an advantage.

MDK -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 4:49:37 PM)

I want Larry Fitzgerald to get a super bowl victory.

Nice to see the Seahawks and Pete Carroll out of it. But they sure kept their cool and made it a game.

Did Manning try to slide to his safety or did he slip and then get up?

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 7:10:17 PM)

LOL. No way he slipped. He's been doing that all year. Eli does it too.

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/18/2016 9:07:10 PM)

It's setting up to end the way it's always been; Brady ends Peyton's year. Would love to see it again.

Huh? In the postseason they've split their four meetings, however Manning has emerged victorious in the last two and is 2-1 against Brady in championship games and 2-0 at home

djskillz -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/19/2016 11:30:07 AM)

I guess that's true. Usually Peyton is 1 and done in the playoffs and doesn't make it to Brady.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/24/2016 5:50:38 PM)

Very un-Belichek like. passed up 2 FGs with enough time left, first with 6+ left. Should have won that game.

twinsfan -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/24/2016 8:18:52 PM)

Glad it turned out the way it did. Peyton is every bit the winning player Brady is.

Mr. Ed -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/24/2016 9:22:28 PM)

Panthers/Broncos

I expect a lower-scoring D battle,Turnovers will determine the outcome.

Jeff Jesser -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/25/2016 12:09:05 PM)

I think Carolina rolls them. As good as the Broncos D is, they are in for a different QB this round. With Miller/Ware coming around the edges like that, Brady couldn't really escape. They were almost daring him to run but he's mired in concrete. If they do that with Cam he'll turn Brady's 2 yard scrambles in to 20+.

Lynn G. -> RE: Vikes talk for Twins fans (1/25/2016 3:53:31 PM)

But if Cam runs too much he might get Culpeppered. And ironically it was Carolina who Culpeppered Culpepper.

Quick thoughts;

Peyton is still not very good, but did enough I guess. That defense is for real though. A few of us from the board made it to Denver to watch the Vikes earlier this year and there's no denying that defense is great; has been all year.

Still, I just don't see them having enough against Carolina. I think we may see Seattle/Denver SuperBowl part 2 in a couple weeks, with a blowout.

I do think the Pats were just a little too beat up. And I'm normally not a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn't doubt that the refs had at least a little something to say yesterday. 85 percent of all bets/money were on the Pats; a Pats win meant HUGE losses in Vegas for the casinos. Among the most lopsided betting games ever I believe. Still, heck of a game. That throw from Brady to Gronk was one of the best I've ever seen.

My only big complaint was that the NFL got what it wanted. More games decided by random/fluke events like extra points because it's "exciting". Here's a thought; get rid of extra points completely instead. Yep, no excuses; guy has to make the kick. But we were robbed of a fantastic OT playoff game because of a very stupid new rule by the NFL.

patriots should have won.

2 shots at a decent FG before the last drive and they passed them up.
No excuse. Bill messed up.
