Sherels is the classic example of an overachiever. Undrafted and almost unnoticed. Carved out a role with work ethic and reliability. More elusive than he looks.

He is not a very good CB, by most measures. He has not been very good as a gunner, IMO. His punt returns have been reliable, with the occasional big play. Crafty, wise and a bit slippery. However, his propensity to FC last season was troubling to me.

If Diggs wants the PR job, he will have to match Sherels on decision making and reliability. Athletically, Diggs is way better. Coaches, even homophobe coaches, find great comfort with a reliable fielder/decision maker.

If Diggs works out the basics, the fundamentals of the position, I think he will be our PR by mid-season.

There are going to be tough cuts this year. More so than at any point I can remember.

I like Sherles, but I'd let him go and gamble on Diggs.

Maybe you keep Sherels until Price comes back. '

Price looks pretty good. I think he could play ahead of Waynes if he continues to struggle.

Definitely in the slot, struggles or not.

Indoors he missed one from 20-29 and two from 50+

Outdoors he missed two from 30-39, two from 40-49, and two from 50+

Sure it's a small sample size but it doesn't exactly help your conclusion.

Some day I'll make a point that resonates with Todd Mallett. He'll say; You know, you're right, Todd.

That will be a good day.

True, but he'll be talking about himself

I like Todd. Stuff Todd says resonates with me all the time. Todd makes me laugh all the time too. Todd is one hell of a guy in my book.

I finally got to meet Mike Priefer on Sunday morning. He smiled (I was wearing a Vikings shirt coming out of the pool area) and was very pleasant. I didn't have the courage to say anything controversial. Dude was really nice to me and my son. He could have walked on by but gave us some time.

Mike Priefer can stay. I guess. I still don't like what happened to Kluwe.

I think we can probably put this thread on the shelf.

Preifer has both kickers doing well and w/o looking at any rankings I'd guess our ST's are right up there.

He must have found Walsh a girlfriend.

Walsh just needs to keep his girlfriends away from the rest of the team. I wouldn't want my girlfriend getting friendly with those WR with extremely long fingers, either.

Amen to that.

Should never have started in the first place.

Well then let's just send this thread to an island and nuke it 'till it glows!

Since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2013 draft, Jeff Locke has been the worst, worst, and second-worst graded punter in the league in his three seasons.

Totally accepting PFF's grades....damn you Priefer!

Also, he wasn't on top of the predictable cadence that messed with Walsh...so now it's his fault Walsh missed.

If we had fired Priefer right away we'd be moving on!

using the Same snap cadence on all 3 FG attempts is inexcusable.. it's a major tell..

Seattle almost blocked the third one because the had the timing down.

It's just another example of Prefier's incompetence as a ST coach.

It's the playoffs.. don't be so stubborn and predictable and give the other team an edge in a crucial game.

Not shedding a single tear if he if fired or hired away.

Sherman got an early start of that one. I would have liked a better TV angle to see if he was offsides.

Get this. Carroll said the refs told him that they COULD have called Sherman offsides on the one he almost blocked. WTF is that?

Merry Christmas, David. I hope all is well!

Thank you Ricky. All was well that day. Also thank you again for all your wonderful support and help you gave me. I would normally say 'you'll never know how much it meant' but I have a feeling you DO know how much it meant.

I'm throwing this out here on the board not for me but for anyone else who by chance might need to hear it...

I spent Christmas in an inpatient treatment center for chemical dependency. I spent 34 days there total with little to no contact with the outside world. I won't use the 40-50+ pages it would take for me to describe the experience but I'll just say that it might be the single most important thing I've ever done and it 100% without a doubt saved my life - for now - as long as I continue to work for a positive recovery.

Please... PLEASE if you are suffering or feel there is no where to turn or no one to talk to seek help. Things might seem hopeless and dark but there are people who can help. Reach out.
